sadly, this blog's setting is much less thought out than you give me credit for lol.

it's currently set in a sort of "limbo" post-crash4 but pre-crash5. as in, all up to and including crash4 has happened. since we don't know what uka did after finding cortex in the secret ending, for this blog we just assume he brought him back to the default dimension and back to working on evil plans. n. brio didn't come looking for him after losing in tranquility falls and is off somewhere doing his own thing again (good for him), which cortex perceives as abandonment (one day they're working together, then n. brio cuts contact and disappears again, and cortex knows he's not *dead*, so why is he cutting him off again?). n. gin did go back to working with him (aside from pursuing his music career). i call it a "limbo" because it's sort of the chill default state of the gang. no major events happening, just cortex and n. gin working in the castle, brio doing his own thing, tropy doing his own thing, and the bandicoots just kinda vibing. i felt like it'd be the most comfortable and stable setting for an ask blog.

tbh he hasn't mentioned time prison or talked much about tropy because he wasn't asked about it. but he sure has a lot of complicated feelings about him and their time there.

cortex, n. gin and their minions are currently living in the castle (which was eventually fixed up).

i'm so so happy you made this analysis, and i genuiely feel awful disproving it😭 but honestly, i should have probably specificied all this beforehand, with what information i gave you reached a very logical conclusion. thank you so much for this wahh😭❤️
