because of his time being experimented on by bl/ind, ghoul deals with severe depersonalisation issues. he especially struggles with interoception, often missing cues like pain, hunger, and exhaustion. thankfully, over time, his crew is able to help him recognise what they feel like and how to respond so he isn't constantly on the verge of passing out. + for added dissociative angst

killjoys headcanon one:

in battery city, anyone deemed 'defective' or rebellious are forcibly sterilised, partly as punishment and partly to prevent them from raising children with their 'defects'. since party was hospitalised for various mental health issues, they were sterilised, something they haven't been able to share with their crew because of the deep pain it causes them. even though having kids in the desert would be extremely dangerous, the idea that bl/ind took that option from them is haunting. that's part of the reason they latch on to the girl when she first joins them. party finally feels like they can be parent in their own, killjoy way.
