okay yes. I'm disturbed by now samira/supriya's departure is being handled. I think it's shady and not right in a lot of ways and if the pitt continues this pattern instead of, say, at least getting langdon out by s4, then that is concerning and leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I will say ‼️ SOME ‼️ reactions are blown way out of proportion, but regardless, that's not really what I want to say.
I love the pitt. I truly do. it's enjoyable to me, it's interesting, I love pretty much all the characters and even the ones I don't like as much are interesting. I love a lot of the ships. I love the way they handle certain things. robby's mental health struggles are among the most realistic depiction of depression and burnout etc I've ever seen.
between trinity and victoria and baran and literally any woman on the Pitt, it is so nice to see complex characters that aren't written specifically to be the "strong woman" or "'complex' woman" archetype. woman isn't the focus in much of it, (though it is an important part of it) the complexity is. and showing true strength, instead of for some reason masculinizing all the women as if that's the only way to be strong. no, instead we get a character like Emma— soft spoken and sweet, and undeniably strong.
so much of the Pitt is refreshing. so much of the Pitt is enjoyable. I do like seeing closer to how a real ER would work. I do like picking up on medical terms and I do like seeing procedures and I am interested in all of that. some moments are funny. some moments make me cry, both over characters we've known both seasons and patients we've known for one episode. I feel while watching the pitt.
they have addressed real issues, important ones, ones that are even more important for the healthcare workers that they know are watching. they have handled some things very well.
now, the Pitt is not perfect and it will never be. we shouldn't be necessarily complacent. it's fallible and flawed and handles some things poorly. but yeah, I'm sorry, I do think it's a good fucking show. I enjoy watching the fucking show. I have never seen a fandom who so thoroughly hates the media that they're a "fan" of. if you truly cannot stand it, stop fucking watching.
it makes me sad because I know I would've enjoyed s2 so much more without seeing the fandom. if you can even call it that, because again, y'all just fucking hate this show. and that's fine. you can hate the show, hate the actors, hate the writers, do whatever you want forever. no one is holding a gun to your head. you can leave. go stand on your soapbox and try to be the wokest in the room somewhere else because you're just making us and yourself miserable.
