Bio: Thomas Donovan was born and raised in New York. His father served in the Navy as a captain and his mother worked as a secretary in a bank near Tom’s childhood home.
At a young age, Thomas knew which career path he was going to choose - much to his mother’s dislike. He knew, when his father was killed on the job, gunned down while they were out on a mission, that he would enlist in the Navy and fight his way up the ranks and outlive his dream.
He took his four years of medical education before serving for over ten years. Tom enjoyed his job as a Navy medic (or naval surgeon). However when their truck drove over a mine, his team and Thomas were badly injured.
Tom's injuries resulted in him being classed as unable to serve and the loss of his brothers and sudden end of his career lead to a bad depression. For years, Thomas dealt with alcohol abuse to drown out all the bad memories. Once he managed to quit his drinking, Thomas began his new life in trauma surgery.
After spending time building up a new, refreshed legacy, Thomas became chief of surgery, a job he takes very seriously and makes sure everyone of staff is being treated with respect and being heard. He likes to touch base around the hospital and does a lot of it during most of his long shifts when no trauma patient is brought in.
Family life: Tom got married to his high school sweetheart when he turned twenty-six. They had planned their whole lives together, with kids and a new home in their future but during one of his tours, Megan had been with another guy and gotten pregnant, so the two of them got divorced.
Now in a new relationship with fellow doctor and close friend, Lindsay, Thomas has moved in with her and their fur babies.
Thomas both cares for and loves Lindsay’s son, Quin as if he was his own and have the two of them managed to build a solid relationship with each other. They’re close and Quin knows when to and that he can always go to Thomas for advice or to ask about something. Thomas has made sure to let Quin know this fact from early on.
