Hey hey! I bring news about Chile. Instead of solving the issues or talking to the people the government declared a curfew.

Cops and Military have killed at least 4 people, you know 4 unarmed unprotected people.

The last time this happened was in Chile’s dictatorship which ended in 1988. We are now in a ““democracy”

I don’t know what’s gonna happen the following days aside from more national protests.

For the last years Chile’s cost of living has increased quite a lot.

Electricity bills, water privatization, student debt, pensions are really low, etc.

Last week in was announced that the metro fare would increase again. Which means that now is around 1,5 USD, BUT keep in mind that the minimum wage in Chile is around 300USD, for someone who ears minimum wage transportation only takes around 20% of their income. 50% of the population earns minimum wage.

Plus all of this, the ministers of economy made fun of the people and showed 0 empathy. Saying that “why don’t you take the metro at 5 am, when it’s cheaper” (it’s not peak hours obviously)

All this anger accumulation resulted in students evading the metro fare, which started a nationwide protest.

Instead of trying to solve the issue the president allowed military on the streets to repress people.

Now the increase of the fare has been “frozen” but since it’s not enough protests have kept going.

I tried to resume it as best as I can 😂 but basically, the metro fare was the straw that broke the camel’s back. Now it’s a general discomfort protest.

you draw bodies like super amazingly well and realistically when it comes to proportions it’s so cool! how do you manage to get them so perfect? as someone who has great difficulty drawing bodies without ripping up pages and launching them away, what are your magical ways? 💞

it’s funny you say that about my proportions because a lot of the time i actually think it looks kinda wack lol!!! and honestly the only real advice i have is:

(1) train your eyes to look at real bodies and their proportions! look up full body ref pics of like, standing people, copy their outlines, recreate it on your own side-by-side, see what fits! of course this doesn’t account for like perspective where the legs may seem shorter if the camera doesn’t account for it, so keep that in mind

(2) the 7ish-head rule taught by many people as a “standard”: 

you can use this as well if you like! i used to rely on it when i first started drawing, but then i got the general gist of it and slowly started moving away from it while keeping tips of my own in mind, e.g. biceps generally shorter than forearms, head+torso should be bit shorter or as long as the groin+legs, etc. 

(3) you don’t see the number of sketches i have that have been binned! i practiced and threw a way a lot of pages and files!! keep at it anon!!! you’ll get there through practice! good luck!!!!!!!

If you like having the physical copy (like I do) a great site is bigwords.com. it cross-references a ton of book sellers to find the best and cheapest deals. Most of my textbooks cost under $20 through them, and I rarely rent.

College textbooks are a scam.

When I was in college (about 15 years ago) it was a constant cycle of:

1. Pay over $100 for texrbook.

2. Barely use it all semester.

3. Try to sell back to bookstore just to be told, “we arent buying those back. there will be new book next semester.”.

And this isnt even the soft sciences like psychology or socialogy where change happens fairly quickly. We talking math. What has changed in college level calculus in the last 50 years that warrants a brand new textbook every 6 months?

And it doent help that a lot of professors these days help write texts books and get kickbacks for them being sold. Basically meaning your own professor may be requiring you to pay for a textbook he/she helped create.
