I need to know where to get my caffeine. I think it’s around the corner, a few blocks over. It’s a pretty great shop. They put hearts on their coffee cups.”

“Well, if you look this good, maybe you should treat yourself more often” Eddie added with a smile. She perked up a little more at Dru’s offer. Clasping her hands together, she rose from the couch. “Oh, you do know all the right things to say to me, Druella Milestone. I’d love to”.

Giggling, Dru held up the bags within her hands. “Well, Eddie, I like you think I know you too well sometimes.”

“Well I’m no love guru, Dru, but have you tried getting in contact with him? Or even see if you can find his number somewhere? We got some plenty amazing websites for that sort of stuff these days, but it also depends on how rare his name is… Like try find a long lost friend named John Smith, you’ll be stuck for months”, he shook his head at his own attempt to lighten the mood a bit. He never enjoyed when things got too serious around him, and it wasn’t much Dru could do about it besides dwell on past mistakes. “You’ll drive yourself up the wall if you keep thinking about what might have been, trust me. Sometimes you just have to let the world have its ways. If it’s meant to be, he might come back to you.”

“ --- we haven’t spoken since a week or two after we got back from Vegas, like..five years ago. Besides, I doubt the number would be the same thing and I don’t know if he even things of me the same way.” Simon was right, though. The more she thought about it, the longer it would take her to forgive and forget and to move on. “You’re right, I’m just..overthinking.”

Shaking his head, Kyle rapidly shot back, “You won’t fall on your ass. Are you doubting my abilities as a teacher?” He falsely accused; she’d be right to doubt him, he didn’t have the least bit of patience to teach someone, though he wouldn’t mind trying for her. “Neat or on the rocks?” He asked, proud of having finally learned the bartending terminology.

Wiggling her nose, she tried not to laugh. “Maybe a little,” she teased, shaking her head. “Uhm..on the rocks.” She herself never would remember all of her terms used for bartending but she was quite good with remembering terminology from work.

Ally groaned, nodding. “Ugh. Dru, it still hurts…” She listened to her half sister and let out a heavy breath. She knew Lucas would have the hardest time accepting Dru, she knew that. Lucas was all business, like a robot at times. “Dru…It’s not your fault. You’re…family.” Ally said, with her big blue eyes. “Lucas is amazing and I adore him, but…He’s wrong. Who cares if my dad—our dad made a mistake maybe and stepped out with your mother? You came from it. It wasn’t a mistake then.”

“It’s going to, Ally. You need to rest and maybe have one of your workers get you some idea,” she muttered, shaking her head. “It might not be my fault but as long as it is known, I don’t think Lucas will ever see me as family or warm up to me. But I can’t blame him.”

“Well, appearance and personality are two very different things,” Dru shrugged. “I’m glad to hear that because I was starting to think that maybe it was too much for a casual day out.”
