He didnt realize this envelope was in the book and he tiltrd his head a bit. The note wasnt clearly new at all it had to have been at least a sweep maybe a little more old. The page inside was crumbled as if it were about to be thrown away before being put back in the envelope.

Staying with you has been a pleasure. Im leaving you this to inform you i don’t think i will be staying here much longer. Its been lovely here but, i prefer a life without people who might get hurt around me. Its happened before and id rather spare the pain for me and you.

The letter made her frown, confused and a little hurt, until she noticed the date. Then she let out a soft sigh of relief, putting a hand to her chest, and shook her head with a little smile. “I had no idea.”

She huffed at Horloz, pretending to be offended, and then laughed. “Yes, this was before we actually… spoke about things properly.” She read the note again, and again an endeared smile lit up her face. “To think that he might have left and I didn’t know… I’m so happy that he did not go.”

She was there indeed, taking a break and reading a bit while the wigglers took their mid-evening nap. When Horloz called, she left her book aside and stood up, walking to the door too open it. “Yes, dear? What is it?” she asked, smiling sweetly.

He raised up the book and cocked an eyebrow “i found this and was wondering if you knew what it was” he signed as he stepped into the room

She nodded and took the book, flipping through its pages. “This looks like Rudaff’s handwriting” she mused, curious. “Maybe it is a diary?”

He couldnt help but snort softly at that and shrugged “maybe. But it looks really old. Probably wrote in it a while ago.”

“Probably. Where did you find this anyway?” she chuckled, closing the book.

He shrugged softly smirking to himself “Around” he paused for a second “well it sounds bad but he probably just misplaced it because it was just sitting on a table”

She frowned a little, looking down at the book. “That isn’t quite like him… but who knows. Maybe he was distracted.”

“Or. He wanted us to find it? For some reason?” he shrugged again seeing the look on her face

She shrugged too, opening it and passing some pages. It amused her to recognize his handwriting so easily. “Maybe… Why would that be though?” Tilting her head, she read some lines of a random page. “It does look like a diary. A very old one.”

He shrugged lifting his hands up as he did so “Ill admit i already read through it.” he said with a sly smile “he was alot younger when he wrote it i believe. Like. At least half the age he is now”

The few sentences Rosa ended up reading talked about a strange training session he probably just got back from when he wrote them.

“You know you shouldn’t do that” she scolded him, though her voice was still gentle. “I know you are curious, as am I, but it’s not nice to read other people’s writings without permission.” 

She did wonder what was going on when he wrote this, but she resisted to reading any more.

He gave a huge shrug. And a very dramatic one at that. “Well, if he didnt want anyone snooping around then maybe he shouldnt have left it around

As rosa held the book something slips out of it and onto her lap. It was an envelope.

Crazy enough it had her name written on the front of it

She had been about to reply, when she felt the envelope fall on her lap and she gave it a disconcerted look. Leaving the book on her lap to see the envelope, she turned it around a couple times before opening it. Horloz would have a point yet.

Rosa nodded again, and then smiled at the sleepy child. “You did great, Horloz. I’m so proud of you” she said sweetly, brushing his hair with her fingertips. “Rest, my dear, you deserve a break.”

Rosa didn’t even reply- in a short minute she was already upstairs, entering the room. Horloz would be there, trying to break the hack, as usual lately. “Are there any advances, darling?” she asked, hopeful.

He had his husktop in the room hooked up with wires to rudaffs robotic parts. He looked up when she came in and smiled before nodding "I think i have something here"

Equius had his arms crossed over his chest, to hide his shaking hands and the fact that he actually was afraid to all hell and back.

It took him a while, before he spoke again. “Rosa, i know you want us in safety… but we don´t want you to die…” He seemed to space out for two seconds, before he shook his head. “Besides, i am strong enough, for what´s to come.”

Horllz walked over to his mother and placed a soft hand on her shoulder for comfort before starting to sign "this will all work out mom. Really, whats the use of having a couple super strong trolls in the house if they wont use it. I can defend myself, ive fought many times before in the game and before i was a troll for real we can do this." Floyde and Takoda talk to each other in the background. Soft bickering of how rosa was right and takoda should come to the castle with them. Eventually Takoda gave in. In the background mituna continued to mind his own business like absoultely nothing was going on. Doodling on a peice of paper. Horloz smiled when Rosa spoke about what he wasnted to try "I may have broke the hack" @not-your-handmaid

Decisions

Rosa sat down on one of the couches with a sigh, and looked up at the people around her. Her family.  Granted, the youngest children were not here. Neither was Rudaff, still asleep upstairs. Many people weren’t there, but this was almost everyone that lived in her hive. And those were the ones she needed to talk to- the ones she needed to keep safe. With a deep sadness in her voice, she spoke up.

“Well… I don’t usually gather everyone just to talk, but… things are changing. You all know that Rudaff has been sleeping for so long, and B is out of commission. But the other night, I found out who did it. A hacker by the nickname of Crowbitch.” 

She didn’t know how to explain this, but it needed to be done, and there was no nice way to put it. So she steeled herself and continued: “It’s a follower of Raudra. And as such they want revenge on us for killing him- mostly you, Takoda, but they won’t hesitate to hurt others if necessary. And I don’t want any of you to become collateral damage to this. So I want you all to leave the hive.”

That was so hard to say. Rosa felt so tired.

“I  will be sending the wigglers somewhere else, Kurloz will house them at least for a while. But I want you to be safe too. I will be honest: I don’t know how many people will be against us. And I don’t want you to fall victims to a fight that you don’t need to fight. We can find you safe places, with Urorah’s help: other hives, or even other worlds, if it’s necessary. And when all is over, we can gather everyone up, and you can come back. But right now… this isn’t a safe place to be.” 

She looked at them all: Floyde and Takoda, Horloz and Mituna and Equius sitting all together… She couldn’t lose them.

“I thought you all should know this. You are all family, and I don’t want any of you to be hurt.”

Equius was nervous from the moment Rosa has called them to gather. Anxiously, he scratched between mudbrays ears and watched her closely. Her words made his anxiety spike and he shook his head after she finished. Then he got up and cleared his throat,“ Rosa, I am terribly sorry, but this won’t happen. I will not hide away, while you are in danger! You gave me shelter, food and even let my partner live here… I will fight for you!” He spoke firmly and calm, despite his fear of the possible future.

Horloz crossed his arms at the ending of the speech that rosa was giving and shook his head before starting to sign "I wont leave either mother. Without Rudaff and B theres barely any muscle here taking equius out of the equation...im staying but mituna will leave" Takoda didnt look all that calm about this either. He had not even heard that this troll was mostly after him anyway "Uh i wouldnt want you to get hurt because of all of this rosa. It would be the wrong thing to do. You need to have people behind you or this thing will never be fixed.." Floyde however just agreed to go "I used to be a pretty great fighter back in my day. But that was a really long time ago. You should still have my crosshairs dont you rosa? Or someone does. Youll probably find that it comes in handy" Horloz realized something and started to sign again "I need to try something. I may have something that can break the hack. Ive been working on it for a while" @not-your-handmaid
