Arguing that “people who are anti-Trump are the same people who support immigration and asylum seekers to the U.S” to prove that it’s not entitlement if white Americans want to pick up and move to another country is an argument that is very much missing the point. It is essentially saying “Because /I/ am willing to do this for other people, other people should be willing to do this for /me/.” It is entitlement.
Because entitlement speaks to special privilege to do something. In anti-Trump liberals who wish to flee America who also support refugees coming to America there would be no special treatment. They would be treated equally by performing the same actions that they were in support of others doing. That is not entitlement. Now, you keep mentioning “white Americans” in your discussion. Is it only white Americans that are saying this? Because I know many Americans of different races who are saying the same. Your original point was the irony of the situation. The irony that while Americans debated refugees gaining access to our country we were also questioning becoming refugees ourselves to gain access to another country. The irony is dispelled, however, when you take the aforementioned points into consideration. Entitlement would be if the same people who blocked refugees wished to become refugees in return.Entitlement is not when people are actively working to bring refugees to our country before seeking asylum themselves.
