How to find the best chiropractor near me
While there are many great chiropractors out there, there are also many different ways to practice. Trying to sift through all the many variations can be tough, but I’d like to give a few helpful hints for your search. I have been in practice for over 22 years and while I have personally had some great experiences with chiropractors, I have also unfortunately had several bad ones. Finding a great chiropractor isn't as easy as it might seem. Most importantly all chiropractors will offer a very unique experience so it will really come down to what exactly you are looking for. Here are some of my personal thoughts on the matter.
1.Unless you have a unique situation such as being pregnant or the appointment is for a very young child, you should absolutely expect to have a set of X-rays done. This is so important to not only see any possible contraindications to getting adjusted but also for the doctor to see exactly what’s going on. There should never be guesswork when examining the spine. Seeing the X-rays will help to be more precise in the treatment plan.
2.I believe every chiropractor should specialize in something. Getting all the general knowledge from school can still make a great chiropractor, but if they specialize in any technique, treatment or condition, it simply takes their skillset to a whole other level. If you want the best in your area, find a specialist.
3.Precision. There are still many chiropractors who give a cookie cutter treatment to every single patient they see. This general approach may still help some but will leave many patients scratching their heads thinking chiropractic just doesn’t work. There’s a famous saying that says to never question the benefit of chiropractic, but to question its application. You definitely want to find someone who will create a very specific plan for you as an individual. Then when the adjustment is made, it should be looking to correct individual bones and not just general regions. While it would seem obviously important to have a targeted approach, it unfortunately isn’t always the case. Movement is important, but specificity is key.
