first of all I KNEW THAT BITCH WAS EVIL!!!!!! I WATCHED YALL DRAW CUTE FIX-IT FANART OF THEM THIS ENTIRE TIME BUT I FUCKING KNEW!!!!!! NO full time mom serves that much cunt without some ulterior motive
the fucking subversiveness of this game oh my god… like its actual genius. you go into the game knowing theres only two endings. you know. there’s obviously the true ending that most get on a first play through. but that little fucking “save harvey (free)” grabbed me.
on my first play through i spent several attempts on this minigame, just to find its super buggy. your controller character phases through enemies half the time, harvey has a massive collision box but a tiny and arbitrary hurtbox??, and dont even try to play with mouse.. and the biggest issue is that it goes on for far too long and the difficulty ramps up way too high. i eventually gave up and went for the normal ending, deciding to go back and save him afterwards
i get the true ending and then click through to get back to day 5. i don’t know how long i tried to beat the minigame but i do know i’m very good at chasing down buggy ass eyes. i only stopped after getting a softlock that caused the eyes to spawn on top of harvey. i got fed up with the bugginess and went to youtube to watch one of those “ALL ENDINGS” videos. and i was even MORE frustrated to find that none of them showed what happened if you beat the minigame, just to hard i suppose?
you can starve harvey, of course you can, the bars are there for a reason. thats the other ending. i even thought of that while playing too, surely you can starve him. but i dismissed the thought because obviously the other ending had to be saving him.
there is no other ending. the minigame never ends. the difficulty increases exponentially. it softlocks if you dont get the hint. the background is his jumpscare from the first game; he’s already good as dead.
not only did this absolutely blow me away, it also adds to eun-mi’s character aswell,,,
she never added a failsafe. she didn’t think to. what kind of wife makes that huge kind of oversight? she acted with disregard over her husbands life! she tries to save him after the fact, but she cant, she’s already fucked up irrevocably. dont get me wrong, i dont think eun-mi hated harvey, or that she ment to leave him in there, my guess is that the simulation was on a timer and he’d be back in his body after a week or something. she was blinded by greed, she cared more about the money than her husband. not only does this create a really compelling villain it also expands on the moral of the original bloodmoney (people will hurt others for financial gain) she doesn’t just hurt a stranger, like our player character in bloodmoney, she extorts and tortures the person shes closes to.
