ATTENTION: sort of hiatus.
So, my muse for Fitz is dead.
My original muse for Fitz came alive for three things when I watched the first season of AOS:
Because he was part of a compelling team
I started S1 very wary of it all. In fact, I was very irked by the resolution of the first episode where an african american character is shot right between the eyes, by a group of mostly white individuals. It rubbed me very wrong as well as the sudden mentioning of Skye as a POC (not Chloe, Skye, the character). Since I’m very open minded, —specially when it comes to subjective situations such as judging or critiquing—, I continued. Mainly because Fitzward and the fact that there was a chance for the team to come back. Also the possibilities of Fitz being hella bi were incredibly appealing to me to write. (I’m so not interested in playing a straight nerdy kinda individual...)
Season 2 pretty much broke those things on one single smash, giving me at much 10 minutes of Fitzward on all the season and having only 3 or so episodes with the whole team in... and though they gave me tons of bisexual subtext I really was hoping for Mack or Hunter to hit on Fitz (which never happened). The more I tried to invest in the show the more I felt pushed out of it. This has happened to me before with other shows (such as my beloved The Tomorrow People which by it’s end I was in it more by compromise to finish the thing than for the love of the show as a whole.) It also irked me a lot that Jed Whedon seems to have taken inspiration from his relationship with one of the producers to create the Fitzsimmons ship: nerdy white boy who is desperately in love with a girl who seems to not pay attention at all to him then screamed to me “wish fulfillment role.”
Again, so not interested in playing that.
Season 3 has started and sadly these two episodes have appealed me very little. The first reason is linked to the team: it’s no longer the same team. Granted, every team has it’s ups and it’s downs and every team grows and shrinks. But I was kind of expecting the Scooby Gang from Buffy here.
I am 30 years old and Buffy is and will be forever one of my favorite series. Not only came to me at a time I could identify with (as Buffy coursed High School, so did I. When Buffy reached College, so did I), but also, I loved the fact that the guys remained friends through the entire span of the show. Yes, we lost some people, (Cordelia and Angel) and yes, we got more people (Dawn, Anya, Spike), but in the end, the team was composed of a core group of individuals (Buffy, Willow, Xander and Giles) who were there to support Buffy and were there even to save the day.
The team is not the same. And the changes the team has suffered are rapidly progressing. I do like the changes but I don’t like the reasoning behind it. Or how they are trying to tie things in: I don’t like how they made Ward the big bad and how they forced a romantic attachment on him, how he is fueled by vengeance. I don’t like how they are trying to make Daisy + Lincoln happen because again, this feels very freaking forced.
And more importantly I so not like the fact that Fitz has changed into this amazing badass (that I saw since day one) all because he wants to get Simmons back. Because again, to me, it reinforces the idea that the “nice guys” will always get the girl no matter what. It also reinforces the idea that changing for somebody else is good and you have no fucking idea how bad this thinking affected me over three years. And again, changing to get romantic love is a Disney ideal that I have been so against. It is very problematic to me in general and also, no sign of Bisexual!Fitz to be ever appearing on the show.
I don’t know what direction AOS is taking, but I’m not liking it. They still have one episode on my “three episode rule” to fully ditch it.
So, as of today, this account is officially on hiatus.

Private Eye!Fitz, where he is an investigator who really doesn’t like to interact with people and yet, he can solve the case.
Victorian Fitz, in which Fitz is an inventor and has crafted some amazing wonders of it’s time, which can be taken straight out of a novel book. Among these inventions is the use of Alchemy to create a Promethean human (this human could be Ward, Hunter or Mack), as well as creating an automaton (again, either of the three) or having made deals with the devils/primordial gods that now torment him.
Agent Fitz, in which Fitz becomes a full time field agent who is really good at undercover tactics and playing people.
Harry Potter AU (who doesn’t love a HP AU?)
Werewolf AU in which Fitz is an Alpha, but he does not appreciate brutality but rather resourcefulness and originality. (This could also tie in with an a/b/o verse where Fitz is a switch.)
My love is for all those smutty thread in which Fitz is royally fucked by his partner but I also have a huge boner for dom!Fitz.
