Week 8 Reflective Essay
While taking my time to understand the course. It has opened my eyes, to the many different ways of media arts. It can be done in the many different ways. After these eight weeks that has been done with this online program. I will say, I am ready for the media design world that awaits me out there.
When I had entered this class, I had imagined it would have been an update to understanding on how to build a professional portfolio. To be able to finally figure out the remaining pieces to Photoshop that I have not used yet. To figure out new tools on the adobe InDesign and Illustrator.
However, the things I ended up learning about how to use and create my own google map. That was an interesting task to do at first since it was something I had totally never done before. Next moving on, the next topic of choice that I ended up loving the concept off, was the use of the QR codes. I had always wondered what these items were used for. It was helpful to see how the technology of the smartphones/devices to be able to scan these items. Saving the best for last, the ability to be making 3D models that is to be used to create the simple 3D models to be able to print them out if connected to the 3D printer. Going through all of the steps needed to do that.
From these lessons and all of the understanding, this class has taught me a lot of the different formulas needed to create all of these amazing pieces of art. Stretching from the ability to create google maps, a skill that was something interesting to learn it. Along all of these the QR code was the hardest thing to understand, after watching many videos and reading the lesson many times, I finally got the QR coding to work when it is scanned through a phone.
There are many key aspects to be taking away from this class. One of them being the knowledge that was gained from these lessons and assignments. The assignments that have taught me all of these new aspects such as how to create things that I have never made before. Such as 3D printing, the ability to be able to create my own google map. Making use of a QR code. The possiblies are endless when it comes to the real life world of media arts, and media design.
I am ready for that outside world out there for what it is holding for me when it comes to the media design. The knowledge that you can gain is never-ending since technology is always growing. It does take a long range of challenges in the technology world. To fully understand some of the stuff would require someone who is on the computers or someone who is around technology a lot of the time.
