As much as I don’t want to do this, I feel as though it needs to be done. DSMP will be going on an indefinite hiatus, starting at the present date. I know that none of you are going to be very happy with this. I know it’s the last thing any of you want to hear. Truth be told, I didn’t expect this directory to last very long. I took over after it was only a few months old, and I’ve gone through a lot of sub-admins/help in the past year and a half. A lot of people discriminate against this directory, but the support that we received from all of you guys— that’s what kept us going. That’s what kept this place alive. I’d like to continue to run it, but at this point, I think I can speak for both Admin Rina and myself in saying that we’re just too busy in our irl/ooc lives to handle the influx of applications we’re getting. And y’know, I’m so, so proud of this place. It may not be as big as it once was, but it’s still going strong. It is up to your discretion whether you choose to stay here during DSMP’s hiatus. We will keep this inbox open and we will keep the page up, but we will not be accepting any new applications. In saying this, I understand that it means you guys won’t be getting new people to interact with, and I know that’s what makes roleplaying fun a lot of the time— meeting new people, getting into new interactions, making new friends, et cetera. We would be honored if you would like to keep ‘DSMP’ in your url and continue to consider yourselves a part of this directory; however, we will absolutely not fault you if you decide to leave. If you guys are too busy to run the directory, then why not ask some of the members if the would like to help out? Maybe not become permanent admins, but just to keep the stress off your guy's shoulders?
As much as I'd rather do something like that, I've tried it in the past and it hasn't worked out very well. When I handed the directory over to Jaejoong and Jia, the place went up in flames. It was supposed to be a temporary situation then, too-- but I almost lost this place. I've run DSMP for over a year, and for a good portion of that time, I was on my own. A while ago, I was capable of doing it that way, but with the irl obligations that both Rina and I have, it's just not working at the moment. I'm not putting as much effort into this place as I'd like to. TL;DR: I would find temporary help, but it hasn't worked out very well in the past.-- Bang.
