Be who you needed when you were younger

I was the funny goofy kid with braces. 

I was the girl wearing clothes two sizes bigger than my friends. 

I was the girl who got a fringe to hide her acne. 

I was the kid who used humour as a defence mechanism to hide her insecurities. 

I was the one who wondered if God had made a mistake when He made me.

I was the girl who tried to find love in the wrong places. 

I was the girl who knew better, but needed someone to be straight up with me. 

I was the child who needed someone hug me and let me know that ‘this too shall pass’. 

Imagine how different things would have turned out if a wiser older person had taken you under their wing and been there for you. If you had someone who knew what was going on with you and could have helped you avoid certain situations. If you had a person who was simply there for you when no one else was.

I think us young adults should take a look at our past hurts and become the person we needed when we were younger to the generation rising now. 

I say this because i have seen too many teenagers in situations that could have been avoided if they had just had a wise friend to lean on, a person who had been there to talk to, a face who offered love and encouragement not judgement and dismissal. I think it is time for us, who have been through stuff, are still going through stuff, but know that the trials of teenhood and tweenhood do pass and things can be okay again, let God place us into a situation with a younger person who needs some love and encouragement that we can definitely give. 

It’s time for us to step up. Love our communities like we wished someone loved us. Lead by example, and be the person we needed when we were younger. 

The torch has been offered to us, now it’s up to us to run with it.

Rejection

Rejection is an ugly feeling. Reflects everything that you think is wrong with you and imposes that onto other people, even if they don’t that’s because you have experienced it in the past. See you have gotten so use to people telling you that you are not good enough, that you are not worth my time, that you do that to other people not realizing that those are the ones who truly care about you and you push them away. But what if I tell you that you need to forsake all those emotions. That you need to reject rejection and not depend on people to tell you what your worth is because it’s beyond the worth of diamonds? You have a soul. The most glorious jewel that shines so brilliant among the masses and the one being that knows that wants to speak to you. Wants to get to know you. Wants to help you shine that diamond that has been tarnished by the world’s problems, uncertain emotions, depression, weight, and sin that’s been collected along the many years. Also those feelings of rejection that seem to build up on the edges that takes extra time to remove. Release yourself know that greater is He that is in you than a man that is only concerned about vanity and things that are in this world. Daughter don’t give up, please. The world is waiting on you to shine.
