Finished a bang piece today so now i only have one more writing obligation to fulfill before i can focus entirely on my personal projects!

working on ocean of lies now, i had a tentative 2 weeks per chapter schedule but i might bend it a bit here as i let myself get distracted by metaphor refantazio for a week lol. wasnt writing anything more than phone notes lol.

i tried to write today and like. i DID write. several thousand words of notes but like. i tried to write something real and im just like not happy with what im coming out with today. but. the problem is. i dont want to DO anything else. im BORED.

anyways. i wrote something like. 20k words in january alone so i really should like. try to take it a little easy probably

Bang has been completed... I definitely should NEVER write something that long with a deadline, tbh. Even though it was great to do this bang because it gave me a reason to write out a story idea I had back in college... it took a lot out of me, to do this.

I'm still glad I did it but wow the last 3 months were rough. I'm going to chase passion again, no set projects, write whatever the hell I want. I need to cleanse a bit, lol.

I do want to go back to my sm/tiv stuff but I'm probably going to dance into raincode for a bit... i need to write about that silly masked man.

lowkey side-eying how this bang is handling it's deadlines... it wants me to write an additional 40% of my piece by next month (which is doubling my wordcount), while it wants 20% done for the final month..... im going to ignore this advice and go 30% for each.

Check 2 is 40%.#Check in 3 is 80%?#doubling increasingly is STUPID im sorry thats not sustainable lol!#I'm working assuming my fic will be 40k. closer to a true bang when this bang has 2k minimum and no maximum.#but it should be designed so a true bang is feasible too #doubling makes sense from 20% to 40% but 40% to 80% is a HUGE jump. 16k in one month #which again! is doable!!! but like #WHY would i do 40% of the work from check in 2 - 3 when i could do. 30%#and then for the final.... also do 30%#that's ALL im saying here #anyways I'm also hoping this piece WON'T be 40k #so that like. I have to write a bit more today and tomorrow to meet my goal, only need 700 more words. I'm almost done with the next chapter of 'The Liberator Takes the Lead' so I'll be working on finishing that up.

I also am going to be taking next week off of tracking because I have quite a lot going on. I will use that time still to edit and post TLTTL and write some more p4 bang.

Also I've been using this song for weeks, it's such a writing catnip song for me. I'm using it for everything

going to be probably putting around half my wordcount every week into my p4 bang project for awhile. I have a full month before the first check in, but the further I get along, the less time this piece will need later. My outline for it is over 1k so it's going to be a bit of a hefty piece, though my goal will actually be trying to turn a big idea into a smaller and more manageable one, while still hitting the biggest parts.

im not really changing the premise at all, so the premise itself is a huge massively-scoped thing, but if i don't trim it down, it's a story i will never write, so im treading an interesting line with it.

i do hope my partner artist likes it enough and obviously whatever part they choose to draw i will absolutely expand on. the rest though, i will try to write moment-to-moment things, idk.

this bang is an excuse to have an exercise in shortening myself, and while there isn't a wordcount cap, i HAVE to shrink this idea because if i wrote my 'normal way' this could be over 100k. I don't have time for that, so I HAVE to cut it down to a reasonable threshold. it'll be a really interesting learning experience.

Figured out how to write a conditional formatting rule for my writing tracker sheet so that when I go over my weekly goal, the number turns green, and when I'm not there yet, it's red.
