this post is getting traction again and I felt the need to bring up a book I just read that fits this tweet to a T, it’s called The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi and the protagonist is a middle-aged retired pirate who is also a mother and she’s called back to go on one last adventure. It’s really good and it’s going to be a trilogy, the first book is out now and the second is coming out later this year
