Free Flow
Neither in a rush nor in a hurry; We vowed to let go of our insecurities. Excluding all of our expectations; We adapted to the free flow of things.
Besides the vibe of our energies mixing; And the guiding of our hearts’ intentions; We hoped to enjoy whatever we’d find In the midst of this experience, together…
Eritrea's Biniam Girmay made history as the first black African to win a Tour de France stage 👏
His name is Simon Sabela. He was a South African actor and film director born in 1931 in Durban. By 1977, he had already directed some 12 films worth over R100 000, his films seen in over 90 Black cinemas around the country. He was also South African's highest paid actor at that time. He was even approached by Dick Blodget, a London film agent who was representing top 10 film international actors including Charles Bronson and Steve McQueen, to sell Sabela, the actor to movie moguls overseas. the appoache came after "Tigers Don't Cry" in which Simon played the lead opposite Anthony Quinn and by the American actor's admission, "out-acted" him. Simon Started directing in 1975 with the film "The Orphan". He is remembered as one of the forefathers of Black South African film. Some of his films can be found on Amazon Prime.
have you ever hated someone you love the most...
better yet...
have you ever loved someone you hated the most...
some things can't be healed...
or mended...
fragments of a broken heart are invisible...
they some times disguised as feelings...
actions...
and thoughts...
LEST WE FORGET
Its one thing to call it Human Rights day, its another to call what it really is...and what hapoened on that day...The #Sharpevillemassacre occurred on 21 March 1960 at the police station in the township of Sharpeville in Gauteng. After demonstrating against anti-black pass laws, a crowd of about 7,000 black protesters went to the police station.
The South African Police (SAP) opened fire on the crowd when the crowd started advancing toward the fence around the police station; tear-gas had proved ineffectual. There were 249 victims in total, including 29 children, with 69 people killed and 180 injured. Some were shot in the back as they fled.
We want one Africa, One African currency and one African Government ~ Julius Malema
and tHAT is the answer to Africa problems
The first time i met you, i knew i would never forget you. I have bipolar when it comes to you, somedays im angry at you for everything that happened between us, other days i wish you can call me and tell me you miss me and id take you a little further and tell you i want you back.
Im always conflicted when it comes to you. I miss the kids,, i miss you, i miss our little family. I miss your family, i miss us, i miss making you coffee, i miss preparing food for you, i miss listening to all your stories about your family. I miss everything about you.
I get angry sometimes because i still believe what we had was a wonder. We could have gone so far, could been all we wanted to be and raised a family perfect enough for us. We could have fought more for what we had, we gave up too easily and allowed pride to make us think what we has nothing... We had it all and we lost it all, my life has never been the same, i know its been 2 years,, almost but I believe i will never find the happiness you brought into my life.
we leave pieces of us all over. in places we created and hearts we broke and shattered. some pieces get burned, others are kept safe in hope that we might come back to fetch or stay. these are pieces we don't want, but a piece that saved a person, a piece that made one smile, a piece that brought peace and a piece that gave the an impression of "you complete me" or "i'm safe with you", some pieces of us are not worth going back to collect or remembering because they are better off where they are, we are not all that good enough after all... we, ourselves, are scattered, in pieces.
For the last time, my life has took a turn for the worse.. There is no light at the end of the tunnel for me.. There is nothing of that sort happening..
A note to all creatives:
Right now, you have to be a team player. You cannot complain about AI being used to fuck over your industry and then turn around and use it on somebody else’s industry.
No AI book covers. No making funny little videos using deepfakes to make an actor say stuff they never did. No AI translation of your book. No AI audiobooks. No AI generated moodboards or fancasts or any of that shit. No feeding someone else’s unfinished work into Chat GPT “because you just want to know how it ends*” (what the fuck is wrong with you?). No playing around with AI generated 3D assets you can’t ascertain the origin of. None of it. And stop using AI filters on your selfies or ESPECIALLY using AI on somebody else’s photo or artwork.
We are at a crossroad and at a time of historically shitty conditions for working artists across ALL creative fields, and we gotta stick together. And you know what? Not only is standing up for other artists against exploitation and theft the morally correct thing to do, it’s also the professionally smartest thing to do, too. Because the corporations will fuck you over too, and then they do it’s your peers that will hold you up. And we have a long memory.
Don’t make the mistake of thinking “your peers” are only the people in your own industry. Writers can’t succeed without artists, editors, translators, etc making their books a reality. Illustrators depend on writers and editors for work. Video creators co-exist with voice actors and animators and people who do 3D rendering etc. If you piss off everyone else but the ones who do the exact same job you do, congratulations! You’ve just sunk your career.
Always remember: the artists who succeed in this career path, the ones who get hired or are sought after for commissions or collaboration, they aren’t the super talented “fuck you I got mine” types. They’re the one who show up to do the work and are easy to get along with.
And they especially are not scabs.
*that’s not even how it ends that’s a statistically likely and creatively boring way for it to end. Why would you even want to read that.
It matters not to me how you view me and my kind, that you think we hold progress. Unlike you and your kind we never had 100 years plus of learning to master it all. For everyone of my kind out there, pushing, putting an effort, we know, we see you, we are proud of you.
not every rebel has a cause. be as relentless as you want to be. Just because no one believe it doesn't mean it's wrong. stand up for yourself or those who can't stand for themselves. pay it forward as many times as it presents itself to you. don't be afraid to raise your voice or express yourself. do what pleases you and never ever think twice about what they will say. go at it alone, boldly, quietly or as loud as you want to, it's up to you really.. if it's a mess, it's your mess, organized or not. forget not to always be who you are, that's the only way to be who you were meant to be.
