“Unness…!!” A wave of outrage flooded through Parv. He brought the guitar down – not toward Sparkles* but onto the concrete at his own feet, shattering the weapon into pixels that flickered out of existence as he stalked forward, pointing an accusing finger toward the cryptic ginger. “He fucking dropped me into the void! He took away everything I knew, everything that I ever wanted in life! I was alone, and falling, and it was dark, and cold, and I almost died! She was upset and didn’t understand why you did it, and She’s the one who wants you to pay for it now!”
He jabbed his finger into Sparkles*’s chest. Tears were welling in his eyes. “This is Her anger! And I’m the one who has to keep feeling it every time I see your stupid face!” Despite his vicious tone his expression showed a measure of fear, more tears streaking down his cheeks. His voice broke. “And…And…And I’m scared you’ll do it again!!”
Cassandra rubbed at her temples and closed her eyes for just a moment. “I’m- I don’t know where to begin with this. How about this, we take a step back and stop fighting for one moment, please? I don’t care who started what.”
She stepped between the two taller men, looking up at them with a ‘cut it out’ expression. At least they were separated from each other’s reach, they would have to get around Cassy. They wouldn’t touch her, she thought, they wouldn’t dare hurt her. “Now, you can talk about your problems with each other later. At the moment, we need to figure out what the hell is going on with the Goddess, me, and… What happened? How long was I out?”
Sparkles* gazed down at the finger pressed into his sternum. He sighed heavily. “Parvis, did it occur to you that I -- and She -- were acting out of anger as well? And that maybe I didn’t have complete control at the time? Just like you don’t have control over Her anger that you keep feeling, I couldn’t stop what was happening, either. Why do you think I kept trying to find you and apologize? She was angry at Herself for breaking the door. We just ended up being proxies for Her to lash out at Herself. I’m sure every person, even a god, has a part of them they’d like to get rid of, and She gained the perfect opportunity to do so. You just happened to be the vessel at the time.”
He regarded Parv’s teary face and continued softly, “If you’re still afraid, you’ll have to find strength inside yourself to overcome it. Bashing my head in isn’t going to change things, for either of you in there.”
He backed up a step as Cassandra moved between him and Parv. “I don’t know how long you were out, Cass, time has become... relative for me. As for Her, I think Inertia might have half of Her now. I haven’t been able to find Leo or Kogie anywhere, and even though I didn’t find proof while I was sneaking around in there, the guys might have been reclaimed. Parv obviously still has his fourth of Her and by some miracle they haven’t caught him. So aside from reclaiming their project of you, Cassandra, they might have been trying to see if they could make up for the missing half-” He paused to point to Parvis and then himself. “-by getting info and data out of you.”
