Cassandra, can you hear me?
Always.
Panacea for the absent soul, still is never enough.

Sparkles* gazed down at the finger pressed into his sternum. He sighed heavily. “Parvis, did it occur to you that I – and She – were acting out of anger as well? And that maybe I didn’t have complete control at the time? Just like you don’t have control over Her anger that you keep feeling, I couldn’t stop what was happening, either. Why do you think I kept trying to find you and apologize? She was angry at Herself for breaking the door. We just ended up being proxies for Her to lash out at Herself. I’m sure every person, even a god, has a part of them they’d like to get rid of, and She gained the perfect opportunity to do so. You just happened to be the vessel at the time.”
He regarded Parv’s teary face and continued softly, “If you’re still afraid, you’ll have to find strength inside yourself to overcome it. Bashing my head in isn’t going to change things, for either of you in there.”
He backed up a step as Cassandra moved between him and Parv. “I don’t know how long you were out, Cass, time has become… relative for me. As for Her, I think Inertia might have half of Her now. I haven’t been able to find Leo or Kogie anywhere, and even though I didn’t find proof while I was sneaking around in there, the guys might have been reclaimed. Parv obviously still has his fourth of Her and by some miracle they haven’t caught him. So aside from reclaiming their project of you, Cassandra, they might have been trying to see if they could make up for the missing half-” He paused to point to Parvis and then himself. “-by getting info and data out of you.”
Parv didn’t appear entirely placated, but he did back off, turning away in a huff. “‘Later’,” he mimicked Cassandra, then mumbled, “It always has to be later, doesn’t it…” He wandered away, perhaps sulking, grinding the tip of his shoe into some scraggly weeds that had managed to take root in the building’s foundation. He offered no opinion on Sparkles*’s assessment of the Echo situation.
“What more can they get?” Cassy softly questioned, switching her weight to one hip and wrapping her arms around her waist. She glanced over at Parv but still taking to Sparkles*. “They already know everything from previous encounters. There’s nothing new that they should know about... But fuck, if they have half of Her plus my knowledge then they’re planning something big. We all can’t be reclaimed, not even one of us, again.”
Cassandra spoke a little louder to get Parv’s attention. “Parv, do you wanna come back over here? Um, we need to figure out what to do now since we’re basically fugitives.”

“Unness…!!” A wave of outrage flooded through Parv. He brought the guitar down – not toward Sparkles* but onto the concrete at his own feet, shattering the weapon into pixels that flickered out of existence as he stalked forward, pointing an accusing finger toward the cryptic ginger. “He fucking dropped me into the void! He took away everything I knew, everything that I ever wanted in life! I was alone, and falling, and it was dark, and cold, and I almost died! She was upset and didn’t understand why you did it, and She’s the one who wants you to pay for it now!”
He jabbed his finger into Sparkles*’s chest. Tears were welling in his eyes. “This is Her anger! And I’m the one who has to keep feeling it every time I see your stupid face!” Despite his vicious tone his expression showed a measure of fear, more tears streaking down his cheeks. His voice broke. “And…And…And I’m scared you’ll do it again!!”
Cassandra rubbed at her temples and closed her eyes for just a moment. “I’m- I don’t know where to begin with this. How about this, we take a step back and stop fighting for one moment, please? I don’t care who started what.”
She stepped between the two taller men, looking up at them with a ‘cut it out’ expression. At least they were separated from each other’s reach, they would have to get around Cassy. They wouldn’t touch her, she thought, they wouldn’t dare hurt her. “Now, you can talk about your problems with each other later. At the moment, we need to figure out what the hell is going on with the Goddess, me, and... What happened? How long was I out?”

There’s no sign of anyone…and then a rent appears in the air outside two metal supports to Cassandra’s right. The plants and sunlight are bisected, then split open and a bluish-black environment appears between the edges. From this space Sparkles* steps. It closes behind him, allowing no further study. His gaze falls on Parvis then moves to Cassandra and he looks relieved—
But only for a moment. His eyes harden as he looks toward Parvis again. “So, I guess it’s later now. Come on, then. Let’s have at it.” He stands with his arms at his sides, not making a move to pull out a weapon or defend himself although fully expecting Parv to snap again.
Parv yelps when the fabric of reality parts. The sight fills the pit of his stomach with cold dread and he backs away, his fight or flight response warring for control. He jerks one hand through the air and his guitar appears. He grips it with both hands once again but they’re shaking. He takes another step back. He starts to raise it over one shoulder like a baseball bat, wide eyes watching Sparkles* for the slightest offensive movement.
There’s a tangible tenseness filling the space between them. Parv looks twitchy enough to lunge at any second, yet seems to also be trying to hold himself back to wait for an explanation from the singer.
Cassandra nearly jumps when the portal(?) opens to her right, backing away and clasping her hands into fists. The sudden rip through space-time to reveal- oh, Sparkles*. She relaxes, an emerald gaze meets blue and it wasn’t long until it was broken.
But Jesus fucking Christ. Despite the looming fog clouding some of her memory, Cassandra clearly remembers the feud between the duo.
“You two.” She spoke through gritted teeth. Cassandra’s hood slid off, pink hair becoming visible and a clear expression of frustration. “I’m not dealing with this- this vendetta! It’s unnecessary and childish, especially in the situation we were just in. At least some of us were in.” A glare was shot at Sparkles*.
Pardon me, there was a glitch in the system. Everything is back in stable condition!
Escape From I.C.
guitarvis:
“A…prophet..???” He looked her up and down, confounded. “Isn’t that more, I don’t know, like ancient mythological stuff..? What does that have to do with the band? Or the…the…” He searched for the words he wanted but they were abruptly gone.
He gripped the edge of the rock, thinking. Meanwhile the piece of Echo in him quietly roiled. In the dual voice, he murmured, “Tнёџ alяєadу тоок єvєяутнїиg…Щнaт моґє dо тнєџ ёvёи ИЄЄD то киош?“
Silence overcame Cassandra and brow furrowed in response. She didn’t know what to say to Parv, even to the diminished voice.
One part of her consciousness perked up at this opportunity and grounded her to the current situation. There was still a posing threat coming after Parv and Cassandra. They needed to keep moving and to get as far away from Inertia as they possibly could. The only problem with that is that Parv is the only one who knows how to get to the designated location.
“We need to go,” Cassandra gently grasped Parvis’s arm, “we can’t stay here.”

“B-But it was destroyed… ⊥♄ℯ⑂ are the ones who ⅾ℮ṧ⊥ґø¥εḓ it!!” His voice took on a dual tone as if he weren’t the only one speaking. He clenched his fists. A green glow appeared around his right eye, tracing the outline of a diamond-shaped pattern made of radiating lines.
Just as suddenly he stumbled, putting a hand to his head. The glow and pattern disappeared. His voice was normal when he spoke again. “Whoa. I feel dizzy. Gonna..sit down…” He tried not to move his head too much as he looked for a raised place to sit. A large flat rock beside the path seemed ideal. He leaned against it for a moment before pulling himself up to sit on top of it. He muttered, “Why do things always get so weird all the time…”
He idly bounced his heels against the side of the rock. “Okay, ignoring what just happened, how - or why - or, whatever–” He threw his hands up, unable to decide which was the best way to word the question. “This link you have..? What does that mean? What else could they possibly want at this point?”
Okay, Cassy did not expect that kind of reaction along with the geometric shape appearing in front of Parv’s eye. Her brow furrowed at it, along with a hint of shock that was plastered on her face. The expression on her face became worried when Parv’s demeanor drastically changed.
“I’m a prophet to Eᴄʜᴏ, and Inertia knows that I’m connected to her in that way. Eᴄʜᴏ, in turn, is connected to the Eᴄʜᴏᴘʟᴀɴᴇ. It’s like if a equals b, and b equals c, then a must equal c.” Cassandra leaned her shoulder against the rock, rubbing the heel of her palm against one of her eyes. “They wanted to run tests to prove that they’re right. They wanted to know more, and they wanted to know everything that there is to know. I’m sure they have a bigger picture than just that, and it involves us. The band, Eᴄʜᴏ, and everything we know.”
