Jackson cleared his throat, straightening out himself as he approached the pumpkin ghoul and spoke sternly.

“Hey, Jaclyn…? Listen, I’m just letting you know that Gigi is already spoken for so… yeah. Just so you know.”

Jaclyn was at her locker preparing a little gift for a certain pink genie. When suddenly, the fleshie known as Jackson started talking to her. She started chuckling, which soon turned into laughter. “Oh is she now? Last I heard, she wasn’t.” Jaclyn turned around and looked over the human. She crossed her arms and leaned against the lockers. Jaclyn smirked at him in a devilish way. “I don’t believe you.” she added in a singsong voice.

And speaking of a certain genie, she was just appearing in the hallway as she walked with Frankie, Ghoulia, Howleen and Twyla as they laughed together over an inside joke. Though the sound of Gigi’s laughter seem to have stood out of the others.

Unknowing of how her hair flowed back ever so slowly as she turned, she glanced to see both Jackson and Jaclyn before giving them both a polite wave. The sun genie had a naive thought as Frankie took her her attention once more in the conversation.

    ‘ I was not aware that they      were friends. How nice! ’

Jackson felt the blood rush to his face, seeing Gigi there now of all times. JHe had to prove to Jaclyn that Gigi was with him, not her...

“Heyyyy ghoulfriend,” Jackson greeted back with a wink, and finger guns included for good measure, “Looking fangtastic today, as usual~”

If Jaclyn didn’t get the message now, then he’d just have to be more direct.

In regards to his scaritage, Jackson’s father is indeed the Dr. Henry Jekyll. Henry had brewed the infamous “Hyde Formula” which gave him his dual personality of Edward Hyde (Holt’s father).

The "Hyde formula" was somehow passed on to their sons: as the creation of two separate beings in Henry Jekyll provided sufficient genetic alteration to effect future generations. Jackson and Holt have both existed since birth, though they didn't know about each other until their teens (which means Jackson, too, will age like a monster despite being a Normie).

Holt was working on one of his newest tracks when he heard the Headless Headmistress address him. Man, was she like gone for some time or what? He couldn’t tell but gave a little nod in response.

“Sure thing, Bloody G! How’s that sound? Besides ROCKIN’ I mean!~”

He kept it to himself and managed a smile to her.

To think so many monsters had feared Dracula, still do and regarded themselves with upmost respect in his presence...

“Morning Major D!” And then you have Holt Hyde, just throwing a nickname casually with his greeting. Then again, Jackson Jekyll would be about the same. 

The boy(s) weren’t afraid of Draculaura’s father. I mean, they had no reason to be.

“Holtmeleon,” He thought it was pretty clever.

“Pretty cute get-up. Careful ya don’t poke someone with that stick,” He moved a hand through his flame-colored hair and grinned, “And your rockin’ name would be…?~”

She raised her eyebrow at the name, though he didn’t seem very harmful. Had he’d been, wouldn’t he have attacked her by now. Still, better safe than sorry. Holding the staff protective in front of her, she was about to reply…

… when her opponent did the courtesy for her.

         ❝ SCORPINA!! ❞

The purple heroine barely had the time to dodge and pushed the newcomer away from the flame attack. Glancing from above, she was able to see the akuma possessing dragon monster with a fireball in his claw.

         ❝ Don’t think you’ll escape me this time. I, Magmanite, will finish you off and take away those precious miraculouses of yours! ❞

“The hell’s his problem?” Holtmeleon figured she was Scorpina, but still got between her and the dragon flying above them. Even if she pushed him out of the way of harm, this dude had some balls to try and roast him of all monsters.

“Yo yo YO, my man! That any way to speak to a LADY? Huh punk? You want me to skin your Hyde, that it?”

A hand would grab Gory by the waist and pull her close, lips pressed against her neck as a streak of yellow and black would be poking to the side of her vision.

“Did ya miss me?” He whispered, holding her gently with a smile on his face, heart beating against her back.

Gory pressed back into the warmth of Jackson’s beating heart - a dead giveaway for who’d ambushed her if not for the sound and smell of him. Humans were notoriously terrible at stealth.

“Mm, no,” she teased, slipping her hand up along his jaw. “I longed and pined for you like a terrible romance novel. Now that you’re here, I’ll just collapse with relief.”

“Well I’ll catch you when you fall then,” Jackson leaned back with her in his embrace, as if seeing if she’d fall back with him. He kept his balance and turned her around.

“I got my notes for your Mad Science assignment. I’d love to be your lab partner any day,” He chuckled as a light blush rose on his face.

She pressed her forehead against his cheek and smiled widely, though it was hidden. Her eerie balance maintained; she bent back with him, though her feet remained easily planted where they were, and twirled lightly when he gave her a turn. “Don’t make me Morticia you,” she cast her arms around his neck and pressed their noses together lightly - lord that boy was going to ruin her reputation. “Oh, really?” she teased. “Well, we have plenty of physical chemistry. We should make it official.”

“What, and have me crawl on my belly through hot coals and broken glass by your command?~” He inwardly hoped not, but the sentiment was still there. He adjusted his backpack and took her hand.

“The room should be open for us. Mr. Hack doesn’t stick around after school Monday’s.”

“Oh no, baby - the leather straps and read hot pokers are my thing.” She flashed her full teeth before delving into sweet, wicked laughter and burrowing her face into his neck. Her skin was as cool as the outdoors. “I’d love to make an explosive innuendo, but to be totally honest, I’m not sure we should fool around near corrosive chemicals. Just because I can heal from them doesn’t mean I want to.”

Jackson’s laugher was more embarrassed and giddy. He couldn’t be as bold as Holt was, as much as he tried to be for Gory. Two personalities in one body was so strange at times, even though Jackson’s just about come to peace with it.

“Just in case though,” He showed her his iCoffin, set to start playing Holt’s newest mix at the tap on the screen. Should things get too dangerous, he’d transform and help her out of a chemical fire.

“Baby, confidence is sexy.” She caught his chin and pressed a light kiss to his jaw. “If you want to go all Weird Science, let’s go get technical.”

These were all terrible puns, in practice, but she had a brand to maintain – and to be honest, she didn’t think they’d actually get to fooling around in the mad science lab. To do so would not only be kinky, but weird. Really weird. Unusual levels of weird. Voyeurism wasn’t exactly a vampire turn-off, but it had been a while since she’d last considered getting caught… No, he definitely wanted to do homework.

“Alright,” Jackson took her hand and made their way to Mad Science, the room deserted much like he thought it would be. Notes spread out along the tables as he began to set up the experiment.

“What have you gotten done so far?” He asked, a rare manic grin creeping out of his features as he began to mix and pour the various chemicals available to him.

It was definitely his scaritage as the Son of Dr. Jekyll showing.

There was a trail of blood leading to Jackson’s closet.

Considering what happened the last time* a trail of blood appeared at the Jekyll house, Gory shouldn’t have been surprised - and yet, when her boyfriend yanked open the door and bathed the room in sunlight, both she and her usual partner in crime hissed like Hollywood stereotypes.

“Turn off the sun!”

It was very possible - perhaps even likely - both vampires were rather shitfaced drunk.

Jackson had feared the worst of what the hell exactly was bleeding in his room. Did someone sneak in? Were they bringing a body with them? Did Gory…?

Well, the last question answered itself as his ghoulfriend’s slurred voice rang out, Bram curled up in a heap with her among his laundry.

“… do I want to know?”

Something about “New Salem,” “frat house” and “bloodbath” emerged from the jumbled string of sounds, maybe the only English words present. Her head flopped back down onto a couple of shirts with their hanger still attached that had been spread out as a barrier between her face and his - maybe Holt’s - shoes. With the sun blocked, both intoxicated immortals resumed what they had been doing prior to discovery:

sleeping off what was likely to be a killer hangover in the morning, in spite of the fact that both were drenched in copious carnage, and there might’ve been an ear attached to the spike of Gory’s heel.

In the time it took him to notice that much, one of them resumed snoring like a Texan madman’s chainsaw.

OK... where to even begin?

Taking a moment to think it over, he could only guess it was a party with some vampires they knew back from Belfry Prep or another vampire school. Monster High was a big mixing pot of species, but none of them would provide so much blood at a party...

Was that a damn EAR on her heel?!

“Hello Bram,” Jackson responded by tossing his jacket at the vampire, “Glad you could drop in... kinda.”
