honovrs:
marguerite had always found it amusing that men who held all the power, the world at their very fingertips could be brought to their knees by a woman. she liked to know she held the power, that she could play him like an instrument, a skill that came so very naturally to her.
it was something she would tease him for behind his back, mock him for with her brother, or those who knew her too well. it was fun to know one held a proud man’s dignity in her fingers, his pathetic words of love, of lust for her, how she knew she could smash is heart if she wanted to, break it beyond repair, how all she needed was to grip to tightly to have his heart burst and dignity along with it, tarnished forever. it was liberating knowledge, especially in a world where women were expected to hold no power.
“ just think, ” her french accent was thick, mixing with each word as it fell from pink lips, her eyes never once leaving his face, her gaze still warm, “ soon we will be wed and we shall have an excuse to spend all day long together. ” her tone was filled with longing as she felt his arms wrap around her waist, leaning forward into him, as a cheeky smile grew on her lips, “ and all night together. ” her lips pressed against his once more, long enough for him to get a taste, but never long enough to be satisfied, always leaving something to be desired, something to yearn for as she pulled away, expression soft once more as her fingers ran against his cheek, his body as if the keys of a piano, the girl knowing all the right places to touch to get what she wanted.
“ i can barely wait. ” her voice had returned to her soft tone, laced with everything sweet as she continued to caress his skin, cheek rough against her soft skin.
she would of course, never destroy his heart. she liked what he gave her too much, the money, the gifts, how he worshiped her every move, it was why she accepted his proposal, when so many had been snubbed in the past. she would not love him, her heart did not yearn for him that way, but oh how she adored his love for her, if she was his drug then that was hers, affection, attention, lust for her, love for her. that would always be infinitely better than love itself.
In his past, he never found himself so devoted to one woman the way he is to Marguerite. He always skipped from one lover to another, and not once he fell in love. But once he met Marguerite, those emotions quickly caught up and for the first time in his life he let them in. He loved her, he truly did. And he knew in his heart that he would do anything to make her happy. He wished to have her by hid side for as long as possible.
Leonard is a proud man. He knows his worth and he wouldn’t let anyone doubt it for a second. With Marguerite, his vision became blurred. It’s like nothing mattered, not even his pride. She was everything that played on his mind for a long time now. Inside he knew that she can’t possibly feel as much love as he feel towards her, but he at the very least hoped that she feels at least half of it. He had history with women who tried getting close to him for his title and money, and even though this fear was in his mind, it’s like he was certain that Marguerite wasn’t one.
She had this strong effect on him, and he knew that, but he trusted her fully with it, even though he probably shouldn’t. As she brought her lips to his again, he closed his eyes and he could have imagined it. The vision she brought about their marriage. He felt like he could finally be happy and have the person he wants by his side. It was perfect. Perhaps too perfect? But if there was one thing for sure, it’s that every time she’s with him, he could barely think. About consequences, about risk, about doubts. All he sees is her in front of him. He glanced at her lovingly. His fingers lightly grasping on the soft fabric of her dress, feeling as if he would release her for even a single moment she would disappear.
“I wish it wouldn’t have to be such a grand event. With so many people.” His eyes wandered down to her lips and back to her blue eyes. “I would have take you right at this moment.”
She was his everything. Letting anyone in was always a hard thing for him in the past, but with her it all seemed too easy. He felt like it was meant to be in a way. He never truly believed in faith, but she made him see things differently.
