Well, I assume at the orphanage he just wore whatever he was given.
At Hogwarts, he wore the school uniform, which was paid for with Ministry funds. So I doubt his wardrobe was particularly diverse , and honestly, why would it be?

I use Photoshop. For linework on simplified comic/anime-style backgrounds, I use Clip Studio Paint because it has really great tools for lining. Characters, though, I usually line in Photoshop anyway. it just feels more natural and comfortable for me. ĀÆ\_(ć)_/ĀÆ
Sometimes for tricky angles I rely on 3D. For that, Daz Studio and Blender work really well.
And the ultimate, uber-killer feature? Just taking a photo of myself on my iPhone as a reference š¤£
I havenāt studied anywhere formally, no art school, but I got here on my own, and I did read through a basic academy textbook. I pick up tips and tricks from other artists totally randomly, just following people whose work I like.
Honestly, Iām still learning, thereās no limit to improvement. Right now Iām trying to speed up unsuccessfully lol because I tend to spend quite a lot of time on a piece, which can be a bit of a problem.

The one with the ravens was 6000 x 8333 px. But the resolution doesnāt really influence the crisp - it just helps with detailing. And detailing isnāt what youāre asking about :D

I almost never use 0% hardness brushes. Usually, brushes are 100% hardness (most of the time), and I use 70ā50ā30% only in specific cases. 0% is reserved solely for blurring the edges between tone patches.
Hard brushes are best for building the form. Speaking of form - itās built from color patches of different tones. I usually call these polygons :D (yeah, itās from 3D, but I like the term).
Letās break this down using the most inconsistent part of his anatomy-yes, the nose.
Actually, there are way more polygons; I just wanted you to get the gist.
Hereās a very simplified hard version of polygons:
The edges of forms are very rarely that defined and sharp. Usually, theyāre blurred. The blur can be subtle, like this:
Or intense, like this:
Each objectās edges may have different levels of blur, and yes - it affects the overall crispness.
3. One more important thing is how you do the blurring. When we blur or mix colors, we only do it on the edges. Keep the form readable, even if something needs to be blurred completely. Otherwise, itāll look like an untidy mess.
4. Also, thereās a difference in how brushes behave across different apps. This is just my own observation from working in Clip Studio and looking at works made in this program.
Clip Studio gives a smoother finish compared to Photoshop. This makes sense because Clip is oriented toward anime. If youāre an anime artist, Clip gives you the exact finish that works best.
But for semi-realistic art styles - like Riot splash arts - the result might end up a bit too smooth, too digital and less painterly.

Currently, the couple is developing, and Nagini is becoming more and more revealed in her human form. Moreover, she is the only one that Tom was familiar with in the canon). Regarding the Tom and Nagini dynamic, I have no idea how the fandom views it because I havenāt really come across any Tomini recs. But Nagini has appeared in fanfics for other ships as just a background character, which, at the very least, is a missed opportunity in my eyes.
I wanna do something new! (Or at least, I havenāt seen anything like what I have in mind.) Nagini will be a fully fleshed-out character with personality, and sheāll definitely have a dynamic with Tom. Sheās not just a background snek - sheās a fifth member of our trouble team on one end, and a fourth member of the Dumbledore-Snape-McGonagall squad on the other. Sheāll have her own position, principles, beliefs - not just an accessory to Tom š
