I don't know if you've answered this question before but please direct me to the answer if you have. Would any of the UB members feed/drink blood before their SO? Is feeding like eating? Does it change them or channel anything? Would they be comfortable enough to do it wile the detective is around?

This will be answered in the next Book Three demo, so I’ll let you find out then ;)

Hi everyone! The time has finally come, Episode 5 is now available. We had a few hiccups near the end there, but we’ve worked through it, and are so excited to share this update with you! A big thank you to those of you who have been patient and supportive of us while waiting for the new Episode. As you know, we are a small indie dev team who spends our spare time creating the game, Andromeda Six, for you to enjoy for free. Manual Download

If you are manually downloading the game, you will need to download the Episode 5 files from the itch.io page, and run the game from the Episode 5 folder. We always recommend doing a full playthrough from the start when you download new files (even if you just skip through), to avoid any potential bugs popping up, since this is an unfinished game. However, that is only recommended and not required. If you have any issues or notice any bugs/typos etc feel free to send them through to us at [email protected], or if you’re a member of our Discord server, you can post them in our #bugs channel.

After a lengthy wait, the new chapter is finally here!

Without giving away any spoilers, it features:

More romance scenes with your chosen love interest!

Opportunities to build friendship with the rest of the main cast

Important decisions that will determine what plot-related route you will experience in future chapters

Many more additions to the codex entries

Lots and lots and lots, and I mean lots of variations based on not only what you chose in the previous chapter, but also what you choose in this chapter

New to the story overall:

The genders of the love interests are now properly randomized for Crowns attracted to both genders

The Relationship screen has been updated: the game will track friendship progress for the love interests you did not choose once you begin Act I

For those that are unfamiliar with the game

A Tale of Crowns is a high fantasy love story, told in the form of a text-based interactive novel with choice mechanics. The setting is inspired by Kurdish culture as well as other historical settings in the Middle East such as Ancient Persia, but it also draws heavily from other cultures and countries in the region.

Your character is native to Arsur, a vast empire overseen by a single ruler known as the Crown. Unlike traditional monarchies, however, the title is not inherited through blood. Whenever the Crown dies, their famed golden eyes pass on to the one chosen by the Spirits of this world to be the new Crown. In this story, your MC takes on that role.

There are four different love interests to choose from, whose genders will be customized to suit the preferences of your Crown. You can find more info about them on the blog page!

Also note that this current version of the game is safe for those 16 years and older.

IF Twine Games

Since I’ve been seeing questions about Twine and other IF platforms beyond Choice of Games pop up over the last few days, I thought I’d make a list of Twine IFs for those interested!

If you’re unfamiliar, Twine is a tool for creating interactive, non-linear, choice-based stories. It utilizes an assortment of coding languages (HTML, CSS and Javascript) in addition to its story formats to code games. Twine games are browser-based and many are available to play for free on itch.io.   

This is by no means a definitive list (I’m sorry if I missed someone!), but here are a few IF Twine games. Most are currently in development and their creators have development blogs on tumblr.

Wow I can’t believe I made it to an end-of-January update like I said I would lol.

Honestly there’s a lot I want to say about this journey but in the interest of keeping the post short I’ll just say this:

Thank so all so, so much for your constant support and for being patient with me! You guys deserve to see the best possible version and I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it!

So far this demo still only has the prologue, chapter 1, and interlude to read through, but the rest should be following suite soon enough! Please continue to look forward to the chapter 2 and beyond updates!

Here’s a short list of what I still need to get done in terms of preparing everything for Nevermoore’s soft reboot.

Create an intro post with the summary and all important links to be pinned on the front page of the blog.

Create a proper character page

Fix up the blog layout

Open the CoG forum thread and fix up the introduction post.

Oof my work is still not done 😅.

Also, in terms of the asks/inbox, I’ll be having my comments on that on a separate post so please stay tuned!

Couldn’t sleep—so I doodled my favorite werewolf, Marco, from @barbwritesstuff’s interactive fiction, Blood Moon.

Marco’s introduction into the series is just flawless. It is one of my favorite character introductions to date. I mean, who wouldn’t be charmed by this absolute dork rambling on about octopus sex habits while drinking a coffee in one hand and smoking a cigarette in the other? What an icon.
