He canât look like this when I meet him. Iâll die
âTarth. Iâm biased, but she keeps it together.â -Nikolaj Coster-Waldau to HBO on which character do you admire the most?
âI love the character of Jaime Lannister. Heâs just so complexâŚâ -Gwendoline Christie
âGwen and I have a lot of fun together, I wish it could go on forever.â -Nikolaj Coster-Waldau
âAnd Nikolaj is a very special actor. Heâs brilliant, hilarious and mercurial. And again, incredibly highly skilled. I felt nervous about acting opposite someone that was so highly skilled that Iâd be working with so intensely, but he completely went for it from the beginning and was not afraid to go full-throttle on all of the scenes. And to really feed the relationship off-screen, too, by endlessly teasing me, haha. Itâs really fun and hard work. Heâs a brilliant actor. And Iâve had an absolute ball. Iâve had a real riot.â -Gwendoline Christie
âIf you meet Gwen, youâll know that she is light.â -Nikolaj Coster-Waldau
Heâs turned 180 degrees omfg theyâre like naughty school kids
Kit Harington, Emilia Clarke, Gwendoline Christie, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, and Carice van Houten speak onstage during the 71st Emmy Awards at Microsoft Theater on September 22, 2019 in Los Angeles, California.
hello can we please talk about how jaime shamelessly checked brienneâs lips and upper body out in this scene
And what about the lovers who spend hours staring into each otherâs eyes? Is it a display of trust? I will let you in close and trust you not to hurt me while Iâm in this vulnerable position. And if trust is one of the foundations of love, perhaps the staring is a way to build or reinforce it. Or maybe itâs simpler than that. A simple search for connection. To see. To be seen.â
â Nicola Yoon, The Sun Is Also a Star
Every time I see this tweet I actually laugh out loud because I know⌠I just know the twincests chose to freak out over this instead of celebrating their âwin.â
me: i hate love triangles in fiction, theyâre so trite
cersei: jaime would never abandon me for such a creature
me:
i did not expect to be so personally attacked
When D&D adapt...
The cast arenât happy with their character endings masterpost
Conleth Hill:
âI took it very personally. I took it as a person, not as an actor or an artist. You canât help feeling that you failed in some way, that you havenât lived up to some expectation that you didnât know about. The only thing that consoles you is people who worked a lot harder than you are in the same boat. So that helps. I donât think anybody who hasnât been through it can identify with it⌠But you take it personally, you canât help it. At the time, nothing could console me. I kept thinking: âWhat did I do wrong?â There wasnât any pre-warning.â (source)
âIt was kind of frustrating. As a whole itâs been overwhelmingly positive and brilliant but I suppose the last couple seasons werenât my favorite.â (source)
Joe Dempsie:
âCharacter development? Nah. Story!â (source)
Maisie Williams:
Regarding her final scene: âI was alone â shocker! Aryaâs always bloody alone.â (source)
Tweeted directly after the finale aired: âjust here for the memesâ (source)
Emilia Clarke:
âIt fucked me up. Knowing that is going to be a lasting flavor in someoneâs mouth of what Daenerys isâŚâ (source)
âWhat, what, what, WHAT!?â the actress recalls thinking. âBecause it comes out of fâking nowhere. Iâm flabbergasted. Absolutely never saw that coming.â [âŚ] âI cried,â Clarke says. âAnd I went for a walk. I walked out of the house and took my keys and phone and walked back with blisters on my feet. I didnât come back for five hours. Iâm like, âHow am I going to do this?ââ (source)
Lena Headey:
Headey says her reaction that final scene was âmixedâ at first. âI wanted her to have some big piece or fight with somebody,â she says. (source)
Nikolaj Coster-Waldau:
âI think that I am more of a romantic than Dan and David. I kind of wanted him to just break out, just leave Cersei! Sheâs bad for you, itâs not healthy, and clearly you are in a relationship where you are more in love with her than she loves you. And what about this Brienne of Tarth? Sheâs like, what a great⌠Iâm no different than anyone else, but a hopeless romantic.â (source)
Nathalie Emmanuel:
âThe one thing I would say is I really had wished that I had more time or scenes this season maybe with Daenerys or even with Cersei, scenes where we get to see her being brilliant before she dies, I think that might have eased the pain a bit more for people, and reinforcing a friendship that she and Dany had because we havenât really seen anything for a few seasons but I think sheâs so fiercely loyal Dany and I think she was until the bitter end, and itâs almost fitting for Missandei really, in a way.â (source)
Isaac Hempstead-Wright:
âWhen I got to the [Dragonpit scene] in the last episode, and theyâre like, âWhat about Bran?â I had to get up and pace around the room. I genuinely thought it was a joke script and that [showrunners] David and Dan sent to everyone a script where their own character ends up on the Iron Throne. I was like, âYeah, good one guys. Oh shit! Itâs actually real?!ââ (source)
Proud Nikolaj bringing you eggs and taking a walk in his outdoor gear on his short Danish legs.

So I just watched 7x07 commentary on youtube which was narrated by Kit, Lena and dumb & dumber and I can honestly say now more than ever I believe they hated Jaimeâs character.
Hereâs a few direct quotes:
â<->âŚ.because Jaimeâs, you know, just not quite as brightâ.
âAs you(Lena) say later in the episode heâs the stupidest Lannister, soâ.
âCersei is too smart to have meaningful conversations with the stupidest Lannisterâ.Â
What the actual fuck?? They really saw Jaime as a dumb dumb who was only good enough to screw his sister. They reduced his character to Cerseiâs loyal sidekick. Which only goes to show why they didnât know how to write him after season 3 aka the moment they stopped taking ques from George. After all these years of disrespect towards Jaime if I were Nikolaj Iâd slap a bitch. Heâs too much of a professional though.Â
In conclusion: I A MÂ D I S G U S T E D
GOT Commentary Season 3x5 - Kissed by Fire
Nik: Youâre really toned
Gwen: I work out a lot.
Gwen: Also just after they called âcutâ, you said: Take your hand off to my ass
Nik: This was not a problem for you.
Gwen: No, actually, it was a pleasure.

Interviewer: Is there anything you wanted to change in the finale?
NCW: IDKÂ ÂŻ\_(ă)_/ÂŻ do you read a book and go i want to change it? lol ofc not ITâS PERFECT.Â
GC: Why donât you just answer the question?? SHE KNOWS HEâS BEING EVASIVE. THEYâVE BEEN THROUGH THIS PRIVATELY. This has been exactly his boilerplate response for anything past 8x02.
Thatâs literally all we should glean from these interviews and calm down a bit.
