Durango Blues Train

A ‘moving’ musical experience features six live blues and Zydeco acts, while passengers travel aboard The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad’s coal-fired, steam-powered locomotive through the spectacular and breathtaking canyons of Colorado’s San Juan National Forest. Next train departure is August 22nd and 23rd, 2014.

John Long was raised on good ol’ country blues. He grew up listening to his mother’s scratchy 78s, and before long the music was flowing through his veins. Long’s precision and talent makes him one of the most unique blues musicians out there, mostly because he brings prewar country blues to the table, an idea most musicians don’t toy with. John Long’s musicianship leaves audiences and artists in awe, Muddy Waters’ proclaimed Long to be “the best young country blues artist playing today.” John Long’s music will have you dreaming of Memphis. JW-Jones is Canada’s blues heartthrob, and we can’t wait for him to steal the hearts of Durango. Jones impressive 6 string prowess keeps audiences start-struck all over the world. It seems that the talented JW Jones never stops moving, he’s played for people in 22 different countries, impressive for someone in his 30s. Jones’ fell in love with the blues after seeing B.B. King live in his teens, and in 2012 realized his dreams by opening for the King himself. JW Jones is sure to rock the train, his music is so full of energy you won’t be able to stop dancing!
