a series of unfortunate events characters as flowers 1/? Kit Snicket | Anemone nemorosa | anemone(1833) by Pierre Joseph Redoute It is said anemone flowers came to be when Aphrodite wept over her slain lover Adonis. Where her tears fell, anemones bloomed. Anemone flowers have both positive and negative symbolism. The symbolism differs not only with the bloom color but also with the culture. Red anemones represent solitary, forsaken love, and the death of a loved one. White anemones often symbolism sincerity and purity though many Eastern cultures also associate it with death, bad luck, and funerals. Blue flowers symbolizes loyalty, wisdom, trust, respect, admiration of loved ones, and anticipation– the darker shade is said to bring sickness and stand for forsaken love. Purple represents prosperity and is said to protect against evil spirits or bad omens. Pink symbolizes romance, respect, and subtleness; yellow, a rare color, stands for cheerfulness and optimism.

Tips for Improving Your life
1. Listen to what you want to do, not what others want you to do.
2. Listen to who you want to be, not who others want you to be.
3. Stop hiding your true thoughts and feelings; start being true to who you really are.
4. Stop criticizing and putting yourself down; start appreciating and loving who you are.
5. Stop saying yes when you’d much rather say no.
6. Start dreaming more, and trying different things.
7. Forget about the past and enjoy what’s happening now.
8. Appreciate the good things and the beauty, and life’s joys.

And here lies the essential between Stoicism and the modern-day ‘cult of optimism.’ For the Stoics, the ideal state of mind was tranquility, not the excitable cheer that positive thinkers usually seem to mean when they use the word, ‘happiness.’ And tranquility was to be achieved not by strenuously chasing after enjoyable experiences, but by cultivating a kind of calm indifference towards one’s circumstances.
