This is like the third time recently that I’ve seen morons fearmongering about food saying “oh, the version of x vitamin they use doesn’t even work in (high number)% of the population” and I’ve not been able to find a shred of supporting evidence for it. The only thing I can think of is people misunderstanding or misrepresenting what bioavailability means, but even then the numbers seem pulled out of thin air.

And even if it were true, why are we saying “avoid this food because it’s supplemented with a vitamin that provides measurable health benefits to 30% of the population and is completely inconsequential to the rest”? It makes literally no sense.
