Boundless. This is the issue when Irene has the displeasure of interacting with true immortals, particularly these mutants: The horizon stretches on so far it becomes a maddening blur of possibilities, and her mind can only process so much.

Ugh. Her face contorts, safe behind her mask.

"Lady Shar," she starts, referring to a title long-lost. She also continues to refer to something she thinks, but isn't sure, happened, or will happen. "Shouldn't you be locked in one of your many lost estates under sheets of dyed satin, creating nightmare-spawn of flesh and what lies underneath? Or are you out for tea and leisure?"

She can't see her outfit, of course, but she's sure it's excessive.

There is a delight in discovering extended family, of course, though it's frustrating having half of her history tucked behind the unpenetrable walls of her sense of this universe only.

( Yes, she does count Raven's kin as her own, thank you very much. )

A gloved hand crooks to beckon Talia closer, head tilting as she considers her fates.

❝ My love... ❞ A voice split along two differing octaves, one effortlessly fluttery, the other an amelodic, amortal drone. Together, their semblance equated to vulnerability.

That was how Irene made her feel. In the best of ways. In the worst of circumstances. Vulnerable was how the dark blue woman felt as she laid a hand, knuckles curving toward her palm slowly as if in reverence, on Irene's cheek. ❝ I think we're out of the Wholesome Marriage Mini Tacos... ❞

This is a good day. Another day in blissful matrimony, bound by the ties of love; more precisely, another day where her beloved Raven didn't go mucking about finding truths that would damn them both. So damn inquisitive, so resourceful -- it's a real task keeping them together!

It's all about trust, after all.

The duality of her wife's tones rings more honest than a singular one, and she welcomes her hand by leaning into it, laying her own on top of hers.

"Well... you know I'm perfectly capable, but if you'd recall the third-to-last time where I mistook rat poison for baking powder -- I think it's better if you get it, dearest."

It should be telling that out of all the people Fang could've bee-lined for to whine and bitch and plead a little, it's his old 'friend' Carl. Now he's leaning in his doorway, a foot propped up half-inside his place so he can't just shut the door in his face.

( Which, you know, history dictates that he'd deserve it a little, but he'd like to give himself credit for bringing him back. )

"So, can't go to my pod in the Hunt for however long until I'm let back in, and I can't crash in the Boneyard because it's occupied by I-don't-even-know-which-team-but-not-X-Factor, so I'm effectively homeless."
