Iâm semi-returning to tumblr.Â
With quarantine I should have lots of free time but honestly I have less than ever due to my children being home all day long. But I do miss writing here.Â
The current plan is just drabbles and asks, and no active rp scenes. Wish me luck, and send some asks/writing ideas if you have any.

The Frozen Wilds
[ Into Northrend - Part Four ]
[Part three]
Ria watched the familiar figure of her friend and brother disappear into the swirling snow and tightened her cloak around her shoulders. A shudder ran through her body and though she could already feel that cold sinking in to her bones, she knew that it would only get worse as night fell. They needed shelter before then, and a fire to ward off predators and cook whatever food Senayr brought back with him.Â
She pushed her way through snow so iced over she could almost walk on top of it and gathered what branches she could find on the frozen ground. Despite knowing that these trees were long dead, she still hated the thought of tearing their limbs from them.
A howl cut through the din of blowing winds and creaking branches and the huntress spun in place, fel green eyes searching the horizon and finding nothing. The world fell again into silence. She lingered a moment, and then relaxed, taking a step forward only to have her cloak tugged at by a gnarled branch.
Tugging it free, she sighed, her breath densely clouding before her face. The trek back to their campsite was uneventful; whatever the wolves were hunting it didnât seem to be her. She hoped they found their quarry and were satisfied.
She built the fire first, just in case they werenât. It was difficult to get the wood to catch a flame, but she managed and after some further work, she had a decent fire going. It was tempting to just stay there, huddled in her cloak, and absorb the warmth, but they would need more wood soon and some way to block the wind or they wouldnât last through the night.
So she left the light and the heat behind and wrapped her arms around herself, her boots crunching through snow and ice as she gathered every scrap of wood she could find. She lost track of time as she continued, her thoughts going to Sabbath. She was so sure that he was dead⊠and now, though he may be here in Northrend alive, she may not live to find him. What cruel irony that would be.
The silence again was shattered, this time by the clear sound of a gunshot. âSen.â she breathed, looking in the direction of the sound and waiting. There was no second shot, no other sounds. No struggle, no fight, no victorious howls. She bent to pick up another branch and prayed that meant he was okay. Without him, she wasnât sure she had enough strength to continue through this frozen wasteland alone.
Back at camp, she fashioned a make-shift lean-to with some of the larger branches. It wasnât much but it did offer some protection from the bitter wind. She fed the fire and waited, blowing hot air into her hands and watching the set of footprints that Sen left behind him, hoping heâd return soon.
We All Make Mistakes
[ Into Northrend - Part Three ]
[ Part Two ]
The bitter blast of cold was the first thing she felt. The wind skirled through her hair and her cloak flapped to one side, and with it came the sting of snow and ice across her face from the nearby dune. She took a step and her foot sank through the frozen crust of ice atop the snow, trapping her up to her knee. âSen!â she called over the howl of frigid winter. She pulled her cloak tightly around her body and shuddered, pulling her foot free and choosing instead to step where he had already stepped. âSen, you idiotâŠâ Her voice was low, muffled by the wind and the wasteland around them. How a vacant space could be so loud, she wasnât sure.
She stumbled forward a step and grabbed his arm, pulling him to face her. âWe didnât bring any provisions! You donât even have a cloak!â Looking over her shoulder, their tracks led to an end but the portal was no longer there.
He looked down at her. âWhy didnât you think of that?!â he shouted back to be heard over the din.
âME?! I was just following you!â she countered, turning her face into his arm as the wind kicked up and sprayed them again with snow.
âWhy couldnât you have been a mage?â he asked. On the horizon was a patch of sparse, leafless trees. Their trunks and branches were coated on one side with snow, and twisted from years of being battered by the elements. He took her hand and started the slow process of battling that wind and the snow that cracked beneath their feet to head for the minimal shelter theyâd find there.
âWe going to need fur, and shelter.â she remarked, but Sen was already thinking the same thing.
âDonât worry Iâll get us something.â he agreed, patting the gun holstered at his hip. They made it to the small gathering of trees and he immediately started pulling low-hanging branches from the trees and digging them into the snow, making a sort of makeshift wall to guard against the wind.
âYou stay here.â he ordered, laying his hand on her head and ruffling her hair. âTry to stay warm, just stay crouched, keep your head covered with the neck of your dress or something, keep the heat in. Iâll be right back, thereâs gotta be something around here I can kill and skin.â
Blonde eyebrows lifted at the way he took command. Senayr has always been protective of her, even back before she left him for his brother, but she hadnât been around him for so long that she had almost forgotten. But when he reached down to pull his knife from the sheath in his boot, she gave him a scathing look. âIâm a woman, Senayr; that doesnât make me helpless.â She took his knife when offered and huffed, looking down at his gun. âI wouldnât fire that. We donât know whatâs around, what would hear you. This place is filled with scourge⊠I donât want to attract any undue attention.â
He paused a moment and then pointed at her in agreement. âIt doesnât make you helpless, youâre right, but I was being thoughtless and I got us into this situation by being my usual idiot self and I donât want you to suffer for it.â
Reaching down, he patted the gun at his hip gently. âNo matter where I go, if Iâm not familiar or I am familiar with the territory, my gun could always attract undue attention. Itâs what it does. If I thought like that, Iâd never shoot Betsy.. And sheâs a good girl. SoâŠâ his brows raised. âI think weâll make it through.â
She wasnât sure which she was more surprised by. The protective streak he was displaying, the fact that he named his gun⊠or the fact that the name he settled on was Betsy. Her eyes narrowed at him and she let out a breath slowly. âJust focus on finding a trail.â
He put up his hands. She was staying put âFine - stay huddled, Iâll try to find a trail, but itâs months old, with this snow? I mean itâs possible but, if we can justâŠâ
Looking back down at her, he found himself looking at a woman, cold and wary but also increasingly sure that he was daft. âWhat?â
âSen⊠I meant like a deer or something.â
She frowned at him and he reached up, scratching the back of his neck. âWell⊠yeah⊠I knew thatâs what you meant.â He looked around a bit sheepishly and then nodded to her, pivoting on his heel and turning in the other direction to walk off now that he felt like a complete idiot. She meant âdeer or somethingâ. Of course she did.

The Portal Room
[Into Northrend - Part Two]
[Part One]
The portal room in the heart of Dalaran was usually a buzz of activity. People from either faction and all walks of life came here to step through the whirling magic. Its shimmering images of lands beyond called out to any adventurerâs soul and it had once affected Riathane in the same way. But now, as she stared at the portals, she felt only a sense of dread. Magic had become less of a awe-striking force and more a thing to be wary of. In that way, it may have been smarter to live and work in some less magey city, but she couldnât always move her shop around wherever she pleased.
It was mostly dark in the portal chamber, the only light afforded to them coming from the various alcoves and the arcane power within. But there was enough of it to catch a glimpse of a small tuft of silvery fur trapped in a crack along the wall. Ria bent to lift and inspect it, and she was almost overwhelmed by the familiarity it brought with it.
How many times had she fallen asleep with Sabbath at her side, his fur at her cheek? How many times had she run her fingers through it? She would have recognized the color and texture anywhere. Out of a hundred different samples she was sure she could have identified Sabbathâs fur in a heartbeat. And there it was. A justified sense of hope filling her heart and lifting her weary soul. Tears came to sting at her eyes and as she stood, she swallowed down, trying her best to blink them back.
Fel green eyes looked from one portal to the next, until finding the one that led to the Dragonblight, in Northrend. She stared at it for a few seconds, that hope dying out inside of her, before finally speaking. ââŠI think I know where he is.â She approached that portal and tensed her jaw, looking over her shoulder at Sen as he joined her at her side. âNo one had any reason to take him. No one knew what he was, except me, you, Drath, and my sister.â
âNeither of us said anything, and you donât think Drath did itâŠâ
âHe swears he didnât.â Looking back at the portal she drew in a deep breath. âBut that just leaves Shin - and sheâs deadâŠâ
âMaybe not.â Sen offered quietly, âIâve had people think I was dead before. I mean, I let them think that on purpose. Itâs not hard to pretend to be dead.â A second passed between them and as Ria processed the new information, Sen laid a hand on her shoulder and squeezed reassuringly. âDo you have any other ideas?â
âNoâŠâ
âWell then, letâs go. Or⊠you can stay home, be boring, and Iâll go rescue your kitty cat.â The grin he gave her was broad and teasing and he turned his back to the portal, hands going out on either side of him as he stepped back through the glistening vortex of magic.
Ria was left alone in the portal room, frowning. Referring to Sabbath as a kitty cat was like comparing the cataclysm to a mild tremor. She didnât appreciate it, and she knew Sabbath wouldnât have⊠but it was hard to get mad at Sen for just⊠being Sen. Drawing in a deep breath, she closed her eyes, braced herself and stepped through the portal.
