Welcome to my sideblog for Adventure Time AU shenanigans! This blog primarily focuses on two AUs I invented during Fionna and Cake season 1, lovingly nicknamed Squinter and Itchy by some friends. Because I'm in too deep developing things inconsistently, I've created this blog so I can sort their stories into a semi-chronological order (via large masterpost compilations). Prepare to be confused.

Expect things to be a bit bare for the time being as I haven't had the time to draw new assets and I decided to do this on a whim (I'll change this image later ok it just feels so empty without one, </3...)

Some of my AU friends were all drawing their AUs as animal crossing villagers so I hopped on the bandwagon. I couldn’t decide which colors I liked for Itchy so I did two.

Some traditional doodles I did recently of Perse and Itchy (since I don't draw their dumb shenanigans enough). Tfw u get stabbed by some jerk that loves stabbing people, and said jerk realizes that stabbing u is a free ticket to anywhere. Now he's ur new traveling pal.

Genuinely surprised I never uploaded these?? Refs I made for artfight of my Glitchy Simon AU last year (including some alternate forms related to his story). Said story only exists in copious amounts of doodles and discord conversations with friends but I have a plan to make it at least 25% more accessible, 👍(don't look too closely at said plan tho, it's a mess rn...)

Bit of an art dump with some Fern content. I didn't get enough Fern fill in the new series tbh so I started hypothesizing a scenario where she and Itchy could meet? So, in this version of things, this is a Fern that gets re-cursed/re-grassed after Fionna restores the magic in her world, and Itchy tries to find a way to make her human again. Turns out they have more in common than I initially expected. When I connected the two, I realized they actually make for a fun parallel, like Fionna and Simon do.

(this is obviously many many years AFTER Itchy's adventure with that AU Betty I just don't have the braincells to finish a single plotline so I'm making y'all jump around with me. I'll make a proper timeline of events eventually, <3)

Hey, in your glitchy simon au, what happened to Choose Goose? Did he die?

Well… technically yes, but it's a bit more complicated than that…

Choose Goose himself is dead, but his shredded magical particles got fumbled into Simon's shredded particles. Simon was able to survive because of this fusion (and because of... another reason I might reveal later…). This doesn’t affect his day to day life, because his magic is passive, but if he were to tap into that dark magic and utilize it, it could irreparably corrupt him. Choose Goose turned dark because of the Ichor of Coconteppi. Having that influence active in Simon’s brain can cause a LOT of problems…

And unfortunately… it does! That’s where the “I need to stop future me from going bonkers and turning evil” arc comes into play! Which I have NOT touched on here, but maybe I will… I am a bit biased to it, unsurprisingly.

Moral of the story: don’t eat evil goose /j

JOURNAL ENTRY XXX "You won’t BELIEVE what I’m about to write! Recently I’ve moved back into my hometown to find more information on the whereabouts of my research and why it's been kept hidden from public eye. However, upon my arrival, I noticed something particularly disturbing: an apparition. Some glowing, ghost-like creature that fizzled in appearance and walked among men. What particularly struck me about this thing is that, well… it looked exactly like me! Or, a much older-looking me. But WHY me?! How long has this thing been in my hometown impersonating me? I don’t have an answer for that and, due to the risky nature of my investigation putting me at odds with government officials, I don’t want to make a scene about it. I suppose all I can do for now is keep track of its whereabouts and figure out its motives. But it mustn’t know I’m watching it. I wonder if it has anything to do with the investigation I’m conducting. This could either be a magnificent discovery… or foreboding of a conflict to come in my near future."

Something of a side-development during Itchy's time in that Betty's universe. Turns out she has a Simon of her own (though they haven't met... yet...). Will Itchy's interference ruin their destined meeting? Only time will tell...

SOME SUUUPER EARLY ITCHY CONCEPT DOODLES I NEVER POSTED HERE JHDJHDSJHS (including some before I finalized his design!). The bottom one is supposed to demonstrate how he feels being synchronized to time / the Time Core at the very beginning. (I expressed it kinda feels like this, with the speed-ups lining up with the hammer impacts and the slow downs being the period between swings). He eventually gets used to it, but the first few days / weeks are a lil rough on him.

I don't understand a bit what is the difference between Winter Stowaway AU and Shared Custody AU. Can you please tell me?

OK, SO, they're basically the same thing! I just consider one the more "official" name and the other kinda it's semi-official nickname.

The "Shared Custody" title came from a joke comment I made since I originally developed this AU with some friends (some of his design and story elements are part of their contributions). The version I draw / post is my interpretation of what could happen in his story since we thought it would be more fun to not have an "official" one. I think my friend Crayon suggested "Winter Stowaway AU" as a name idea before I made the joke, and I personally liked it as the more "official" name since it actually has to do with his story (he's a stowaway into the traveling trio's adventure!). A lot of my blog tags are for personal organization, and even if Winter Stowaway is the "official" name, I find the silly nickname endearing for obvious reasons… so I just tag with both! : D
