These are my personal favourite wlw movies. If you have any suggestions please shoot me a message and I’ll watch! The wlw movie scene is a bit bleak for us all, so hopefully this will help.

Tipping the Velvet (another book-to-movie adaptation from a Sarah Waters novel)

english accents

main character goes through like, 4 lovers (5 if you count the one guy before she had her lesbian awakening)

mc is also canonically genderfluid (one of the lines in both book & movie are when she’s looking for a place to stay and an ad that says “looking for fe-male tenant” catches her eye bc she said she finds herself in the in between of “fe-male”)

mc had a job as a male impersonator and even after she left that job still wore men’s clothing just because it’s comfortable to her and she likes it (and not in a “woman wearing men’s clothing” sort of way but in a “continues to pose as a man from time to time” way)

so many characters are not straight

there’s some heartbreak but the ending is a happy one for sure

I can’t remember where I read this but the actress playing Kitty is actually bi like her character so that was great to hear
