Angel of course had a point. There was a limit to what he could do and helping those that didn’t want it, well it was just as likely to cause damage as help so he nodded. He’d worry over what he could do not what he couldn’t. Though he did make a mental note to try and be down in the undercroft a bit more to let some of the newer ones get to know him so they’d understand he wasn’t really out for anything. “When yer right yer right.”

As he drew the line making it clear they’d be making Angel’s friend something he expected some argument, but clearly not phrasing it as a choice had worked. If he had truly believed the other didn’t want to do it he might have relented, but he was pretty sure the protest was more about protecting the boy who had caught Angel’s interest. “That’s alright. That’s the best thing about a relationship. Ya get to learn all that little shit. Believe me ya’ll miss it once ya get to know nearly everything.” Dusty considered for a moment. “I’m thinking something hearty. Maybe chicken and dumplings. That stick to yer ribs kind of stuff.”

Come back and check to make sure I did it right before I get this bridle on.”

Dusty made a mental note to ask Marcus if that was true. He knew vampires weren’t immortal, but he hadn’t thought the cold was something he needed to worry about and he certainly didn’t feel cold. “I’ll look into that I need my fingers got some boys who are real fond of ‘em ya know, but it ain’t that cold right now. And yer mostly naked ass needs it more than I do. I imagine that collar ain’t exactly making ya toasty warm.” With his powers Dusty was sure the other would be fine, but without them he was a rather petite man which meant more vulnerable to the cold.

Dusty looked at the other a bit suspiciously as he was dismissed. He didn’t think someone who needed riding lessons would know the first thing about preparing a horse for a ride, but after a moment he shrugged. Maybe the other had lied, but Dusty assumed it was to get away from the asshole who had claimed him. “Alright. Won’t take me long. If ya do need help just holler I won’t be far.” Dusty walked off and went to go get his own preferred horse. And just in case the other was bluffing and did need help he took his time so the other could come to that conclusion himself without Dusty hovering over him. But eventually arrived with a Russian Don trailing behind him calmly. “This is Red.” He held up his free hand that wasn’t leading the horse. “I didn’t name him.” But he was definitely Dusty’s favorite.

Wren’s lips actually lifted into a smile of amusement at that. If it was anything like listening to Oswald grunt and whine over indulging himself in too much blood wine and collapse into his chair, Wren could certainly not stand a vampire with a cold. “Sorry, your fiancé.” Wren agreed, before asking, “Who’s Andy?”

Wren followed through the mans open door. He usually didn’t tend to believe a vampires well practised ‘kindness’ when it was offered to him, but it was hard to argue with a steaming hot shower, a warm bed and soup when he felt so terrible. It didn’t matter that he was vegetarian, it wasn’t as though he hadn’t been forced to eat whatever he could get since becoming a slave all those years ago.

“… Thank you.” He answered in tentative agreement, “It’s through there?” He pointed one pale finger at at door to his right.

Dusty winced a bit at the question because he doubted Wren would like the answer. He didn’t need to know the boy that much to guess he wouldn’t be thrilled with the fact that he had claimed someone. “My claim.” He immediately held up a hand. “And yes it was mutual he got a choice.” Well he hadn’t not really, but Dusty had know he wouldn’t man and had spared him the awkwardness of having to ask or say yes. He pointed to the left. “Guest rooms on the left. I gave Andy the Master.”

As he turned to the little kitchen he paused and looked back. “Ya ain’t allergic to nothing are ya?” He asked knowing he should have checked the kids file, but that had always seemed a little intrusive and felt it was better to get to know someone the old fashioned way.

While he wouldn’t know for a fact, years in his field had led him to be able to read another person fairly well.

The idea of pushing to know who the other was pretty much didn’t occur to Dusty. Sure there was a tiny stir of curiosity, but he had learned young that sometimes asking questions wasn’t in your interest. And it was almost common place to have men come to moony’s in one form of disguise or another. That didn’t usually come in the form of his own face smiling at him from something that wasn’t a mirror, but it was the same idea. He chuckled when the other seemed to like the fact that he wasn’t pushing. He blinked at the admission and chuckled. He had mostly meant well educated, but he liked that he was closer than he had expected. He blinked at the accent and grinned. “I gotta say that accent suits ya. A southern accent can be a real pain in the ass unless ya really know it.” Of course being southern made it easy to identify a fake southern accent.

“I will admit it’s a bit different.” Dusty paused as he thought over the other’s question. “And I ain’t sure my ego’s big enough that I ever had a fantasy featuring myself with myself, but if it makes ya happy it don’t bother me none. But were gonna make something for yer little friend and yer gonna take it to him.” Dusty felt a little bad snapping at the other, but their little disaster during Mabon had made it clear to him that Angel wasn’t really ready to have someone he considered in power to act like a friend rather than a Master. Dusty hadn’t really thought about getting the other a gift. He wasn’t sure they were at that point yet, but he understood that part of Marcus was kind of like him the presents and the efforts to take care of another was the way he expressed his feelings. So he guessed he shouldn’t have been so surprised. At first he thought to tell Marcus he wasn’t really ready for any more gifts. But as the other explained Dusty’s eyes widened a little bit. Family heirlooms were something he’d never really thought about. His family had barely had a pot to piss in much less things like a family heirloom. Anything of value would have been sold years ago to pay for food or medicine. And because of that he couldn’t keep the interest out of his eyes as he looked down at the box.

He snorted at the other’s comment. “Dinner alright, but wedding plans. That’s already giving me enough anxiety just trying to figure stuff out with my Angel. I half just wanna elope to Vegas, but I ain’t got the heart to tell him.” He snorted at the kiss smiling just a bit. Marcus was the only one that tried to do things like that.

Had it been under normal circumstances, Dorian would be quite mad, but he could hardly consider this normal circumstances. I want to say thank you for giving me the chance to fix what I broke,” his voice filled with honesty as he placed a hand on the side of their face. He pulled away taking up the small box from his pocket which contained a ring.

“I also want to make a promise to you. A magical promise that I will never hurt you and will never put you through that again,” he spoke placing a hand on his chest. “I love you Dusty and you have my words. Also, how have you been?”

Dusty blinked as he fell to a stop with Marcus and smiled at the touch. It had been a while since he had welcomed Marcus’ touch, but he was man enough to admit he had missed it. Dusty snorted as the other thanked him and he crooked an eyebrow. Perhaps he could have just walked away entirely and for a time he had wanted to, but he knew it was more complicated for that. What they had wasn’t as simple or as easy as what he had with Matty, but there was something that wasn’t just going to be forgotten that easily.

He blinked again as he saw the ring and for a second freaked out just a bit wondering what the other was up to. Especially when the word magic came into it. He hadn’t allowed the other even a small spell around him since that night during the unfortunate Heat week. And for a moment he flinched. “Ya know I’m already engaged right?” Of course a ring could be more than just about marriage, but he couldn’t help but clarify. “And what do ya mean a magical promise?” It was clear he was getting just a bit stressed, but he didn’t try to move away. “I’ve been alright. Things are falling in place I think.” Answering how he was after the other’s actions felt a little odd, but it was definitely the easiest thing to address and he had to wonder if that’s why Marcus waited until the end to ask him the easy question so he could focus on that rather the more stressful questions.

Ho Ho No (Lucien/Dusty)

Lucien was in his Christmas outfit looking for Kaden who was to be wearing a matching suit that Lucien found still hanging on the back of the door of his slave’s room where he had left it; he finding it when he went to get the other to accompany him to the party. He’d then stopped by Aurelius’ suite not in the mood to go alone as he hadn’t really wanted to go in the first place, but Aurelius didn’t answer. Lucien had then sent a few texts to his slave when the other finally texted back he was at the party already. The French doctor was near irate with his hedonistic slave, so much so it was near the only reason he want to the party. Kaden wasn’t going to stay until he went back to the suite and changed into what Lucien provided the ungrateful thing. How, after everything Lucien had done for him, he could still be so completely disrespectful to him the doctor was absolutely clueless. He kept expect the kresnik to react as he expected, but the other still seemed to blatantly ignore his requests constantly even more so around the most ridiculous holiday, if it could be called such a thing any longer.

He’d made it to the party and was scanning the area not seeing the focus of his current ire, which was making his constant annoyance at the garish decorations and idiotic festivities even worse, if such a thing were even possible. His face was back in his phone as he was angrily tapping out a message heading blindly to the bar needing a glass of fine wine to deal with the obnoxious amount of people. Lucien had never liked large crowds, which he was reminded of as someone bumped him and he dropped his phone mid rant.

“You boorish fool!” Lucien snapped far louder than he normally spoke when in public. The doctor usually reserving such tones for private spaces, but he was a bit frayed or more than usual. “You could have damaged my device.” He grit as he stood checking his phone before glaring to the obstruction finally realizing who he’d crossed path’s with. Unfortunately Lucien had fed prior to the party so his cheeks instantly flushed when he met the taller man’s gaze. “Oh, Mr. Rhodes…” He cleared his throat absently as his gaze shifted from the younger man’s to the bar and anywhere but at the other who he’d last tangled with and had actively avoided since heat week. “I didn’t expect to see you here.”

Dusty might have looked like he belonged in the fancy ball room given his suit and the tasteful black and gold Christmas tie he had just bought, but he felt more than a little out of place. Matty seemed to like the look, but it felt weird to be in the suit especially since he had picked it himself. But he supposed something just took getting used to. He was for the most part enjoying himself though he would have been the first to admit he might have preferred to stay home and watch Christmas movies with Matty. Of course he knew Matty needed to socialize. While his Angel was fine being a homebody most of the time there was a part of Matty that liked people too much to just sit home all the time. Which explained why Dusty was letting him have some space so he could reconnect with his friends.

Dusty had his eyes on the bar when he evidently should have been looking at where he was going. The apology was on his lips the moment he bumped into the other, but the other was a bit faster. Dusty’s eyebrow quirked as he was berated and he realized who it was. He smiled as he noted the flush, but of course he had also noted the fact that other seemed more than a bit flustered. “Well if it ain’t my thorny little rose. Ya look fantastic.”

He looked at the phone in the other’s hand that clearly had distracted the other. “Something must be awful important on yer device.” He chuckled as he used the other’s word and smiled. “Ya know I’m just a stripper, but if I was to take a guess I’d almost say ya weren’t having a good time tonight.”

Angel looked at Dusty and nodded his head in understanding. “I promise I won’t give it away.” It was unusual for Angel to be so accepting of anything that might make his life easier, but he supposed that Minho could be blamed for the shift. The other slave would be rather upset if Angel allowed himself to freeze. Besides, he had intended to use it for them both anyway. The jacket though, it was too small for him and would work well for him.

“Okay. I’ll be back.” He spoke before he was moving to find the man intended. The items were passed over to him to keep safe before he was walking back to where he thought Dusty might be. When he saw the man again, he nodded his head, “Did you find those humans I was talking about?” He asked with a raise of his brow. Angel was at least glad that his celestial half helped him be somewhat resistant to the cold.

Distrubuting what he brought wasn’t the task he thought it would be. Some of course were nervous when he approached, but he didn’t take personally, but there were enough boy’s in the undercroft that remembered his time there that for the most part the items were taken. So he was smiling feeling a bit better about the whole situation. It wasn’t perfect, but between the blankets and the efforts of the castle the boys would be fine at least he hoped so.

That smile stayed on his face as Angel reappeared. He nodded. “Yep. Though I don’t understand why ya’d hole up in some cold ass corner. If I was still down here I’d have instigated a giant puppy pile. Take all the mats off the cots and just sleeping in a big pile in the middle of the room. Much warmer.” He nodded, but then he’d had his share of very cold nights. Of course that had been in Georgia and while it had seemed very cold then it didn’t hold a flickering light to the cold assaulting the castle.

“Let’s go upstairs. We can make that tea. Maybe some soup. I got my hands on some dispensers for the tea. I’m not sure how we’d transport the soup, but we can think on that. Ya alright with that? And we’ll make something special for whoever it is yer trying to keep warm.”

Mathias left both gifts on the counter in their apartment. Wrapped up in red paper with a gold bow and a note.
