summer of seventeen

Scorpius is a summer constellation. Albus is a Muggle. They are seventeen and searching for a way to make their final summer holiday a little less lonely when they meet on a lakeside bank at sunset. The world is their oyster, these aging England streets are their playground. It starts in July as they discover, together, the tactile way love and life can make, break, bleed, and mend.

happy one year (and a day late) anniversary to summer of seventeen ♡

i say it about every fic i post but this one was so very special to me :-) every word i wrote of it felt so decisively true and each day i get a kudos email for it i preen because, yeah - i'm always going to be proud of this one!

to reminisce, here is a screenshot of the original monthly calendar i put together in my first ever plan:

and here is a screenshot of the excel spreadsheet i used to track the amount of words for each individual day, how those days split into chapters, what the content of the chapters was and then, in the last column, which lines from which songs would be the title and then the summary of each chapter:

ok not to be that person like i know asking an author to write a certain thing is giving 'if u tell me to do the dishes when i was already planning on doing the dishes then suddenly i dont want to do em anymore' but like i would actually pay real life US dollars or wtvr currency of ur choice for an PEUH epilogue about scorbus in france like ik im gambling by saying this to u but im freaking the freak out...just finished it and came her to see that ur still in ur scorbus bag so...ur a genius btw.

anon i only just saw this but please know it made me LOL and also i am always in my scorbus bag i fear i will never ever really leave. second also pls know a PEUH epilogue is always in my mind and there have been like six different version of it on my laptop at any given time. it is soooo 100% something i plan on writing and posting at some point, i just find it so hard because that version of my scorb is so unique to me and different and i loathe the idea of writing a version of them that i realise, ten months down the line, isn't actually them at all. if that makes sense. but trust i am doing the dishes very slowly and my google searches r constantly about brittany, france and it will (i promise) come eventually.

Um hi! I really really really really really love your fic summer of seventeen. Like a lot. I’ve probably read it at least 5 times. I think reading it rearranged my atoms (good thing) and I am now Fundamentally Changed. Thank you 💜 (also I literally can’t imagine any other Scorbus than your version? They are imprinted on me??)

anyways to the point: could I have your permission to print it out and bind it into a book by hand? I won’t be selling it, just as a personal copy for me to read at 3 am instead of squinting at my phone. I have a plan (with math!) and everything, and it should be complete by September 1st, (to celebrate yknow). If you approve, I’ll make sure to put a lot of time, effort, and love, into this project and send you some photos when it’s done!

every time I crack open a physical copy of cursed child to cross reference the source material I always feel so sophisticated and also strange because wdym I’m writing something canon compliant…. What is this strange foreign land
