Tim: No, what's that mean?

Lisa: It means that by the time we finish this call we will be closer to Friday than before we began this discussion. In theory we have traveled into the future and reached a time in space closer to the day called Friday.

Tim: Lisa.

Lisa: Tim.

Tim: I have so much work to do.

- Employees: Use the performance review process to lobby for additional training opportunities. This is also great time to share you ideas about the direction of the team - just be ready to provide expound on those ideas if your boss takes the bait.

Leaves Fall = Good | Wages Fall = Opportunity?

Now that the other Washington is back to work, we wanted to share some numbers from the Department of Labor we thought you might find interesting:

King County’s 2.3-percent wage gain ranked 4th nationally and Clark County’s 1.2-percent wage advance placed 17th among the 328 large counties nationwide.

Average weekly wages did not change in the third quarter of 2012 in two of Washington’s large counties, while wages declined in five others.

Among these five, Benton County’s weekly wages decreased 6.9 percent and tied for the second largest decline in the nation. (Department of Labor, 2013)

Opportunity? Well perhaps. Benton County is located near the Columbia River and surrounded by other growing communities. In Benton, energy is king and she is green! From wind farms to solar manufacturers it may not be long before Benton falls into a new season of its on. A boom season where rising wages and growing communities create opportunities for businesses like yours and ours.
