It turns out much prettier than I thought it would.

Like for real though, I was for sure thinking I would screw it up.

Final Project Updates

This is the first step of making stuff! Buying materials! Oh boy, it starts so simpleeeee!

Boom! the Hilt is done! It looks promising! Believe it or not, it takes longer than it looks! But hey, it does look appealing so no complaints!

First Base is doneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

But not thick enough! NEEDS MORE WRAPPING!

Now it is much thicker!

But check out that hottie who holds the sword though? I’d dig him if I were you! 

It takes courage, bravely, boldness, and a little bit of finesse in order to pose like that in public space! Am I right?

More materials for the next bad boys!

Anddd done! A pair of swords!

I guarantee you! It wouldn’t hurt if you hit people with it! Trust me, I tested them out! Hitting y head all the timeeee and I’m still fineeeee!

Week Seven - Studio Update: Pom Pom & Tassel/ Sewing

Pom Pom & Tassel! 

Thanks to my class first teach-in session, they taught me how to make pom pom and tassel! 

I was very frustrated while doing these because the STUPID SCISSOR COULD NOT CUT THE YARNS PERFECTLY... ahem... anyhow, at least the work turns out to be decent... right?

Sewing!

So we did some sewing in Wednesday class and  I gotta say, I really like it since I didn’t have any frustration at all while making these wonderful.... err.. I would like to call them bracers. But anyways, the point is, even though they’re not professionally made, they do look good on me though! Even one of my art instructors agree that they look attractive when worn!

Week Six - Studio Update: Machine Felting/Needle Felting/Wet Felting

Crocheted wool yarn machine felted!

It looks funny but it’s so softttttttt! Though, to me.. this process looks very complicated and random so I’m not very interested in pursuing this technique.

Needle Felted-- random smoking character!

Just a simple half body needle felted character that I made. I thought it would be cool to make some kind of dude with long hair, a mustache and have him smoke a cigar! It does look funny though.

OH AND BY THE WAY! I STAB MY FINGERS MULTIPLE TIME WHILE DOING THIS! TOO DANGEROUS FOR ME!

Wet Felting

Uh.. I made a colorful organic looking piece of fabric.. then I made some more small pieces and created a weird, cartoonish looking face.

This process... is too messy.... much patience required... and too much work... I don’t like it... please no...

Week Six - Question of the Week

“What technologies does your work depend on?“

Uh... I don’t know how to answer this question since I mostly work with the traditional pencil and paper format... do those even consider as technologies?

Like if we speak of technologies like tech stuff, then I guess I do depend on my computer and some graphic software to make digital artwork.

Now that my Crochet game is stronger! These took wayyyyyy less time and much better quality, too!

Although I said “better quality.” it’s pretty much still bad in normal standard, aha. Oh well, learning experience!

When I first look up this artist from the list instructor Tina gave me, I marvel at how much vibrant color this artist use and how “epic” this work is in terms of bursting with intricate, complex, and detail marks. She for sure would be my top pick for artist research.

COSTUMES/Real Heroes (Batman & Spiderman)

I can relate with this artist since he uses superheroes as the base for his work because I, too, have a fondness for superheroes. Plus, he makes costumes! Costumes are fun!

I find this artist work pretty interesting since it’s about human figures and to me, the human figure is always interesting. Plus, the figures in this artist’s work never standing still, and always in interesting poses which makes her work more intriguing to the eyes.

Honestly no since I have always been aloof and absent minded when it comes to my work. Like, I usually go with whatever I feel like at the time and give it the best that I could which in turn, makes it really difficult for others to steer me into a specific direction.
