I'll never mind it, if you're interested in being pals but concerned it comes across poorly - it doesn't! There are tonnes of reasons to stop following people, and they're all a-okay. Similarly, feel free to like or comment on posts as you please. Also, on this pin will be means to get Wikipedia to hew to it's classic desktop appearance, for as long as that's possible. Right now, the best way is to use a script manager of your choice - Tampermonkey or Violentmonkey - and install this script. If you're concerned about scripts, you can set your script extension (____monkey) of choice to never update automatically, and set the script to never check for updates. This will probably not work forever; I will update with a - likely inferior - stylesheet if wikipedia removes support for this. Nobody should have to use an account to have basic readability support on a site that is predicated around text. And as someone who has really crummy eyes, it irritates me when designers, or perhaps 'designers' try to use people like me as their reason for garbo redesigns.

I figure I've followed enough I don't mind asking - feel free to ignore this one, but is there a comprehensive piece on the world you've created? I didn't know Veka was Otto's relation, for example. Is Otto even alive at the start of the timeline you've created, or - more of a person that existed at one point and is known by the Volker corporation, rather then for personal appearances? If you've written a post or write-up, I'd be interested in being pointed at it, and if not - I'd be willing to risk a FIST to get one, so maybe some day..?

Otto Volker is 213 years old and was born in Austria, 1894. By 2107 it is a "corporation" in name only as Otto Volker maintains near total control of the entire organization with a force of robotic labor and AI war planners that run constant calculations against the war planners of other global powers. He is personally notable for his development of life extending medical treatments and technologies. This is what allowed him to accumulate the wealth and influence to become such an established figure after the third world war. Veka calls him "grandpa" because she was created by his organization and some of Otto Volkers medical research was the foundation for things like the sophisticated biomimicry used in the construction of synthetics like her. Otto Volker does not care or even know she exists in all actuality. I do eventually plan to have a timeline of all the notable world events in the setting following Otto Volker but for now it is just the text that accompanies my models that can be considered the canon

Corimir

Full Name: Corimir ‘len Canaale Silvanir Lanaawe ‘ata Anduil Maldur Tirwen ‘cal Lloderion Race: Altmer Age: 36 Gender: Male Birthsign: The Serpent Place of Birth: Shimmerene Current Residence: Ivarstead

Corimir was a Thalmor soldier (rank: Corporal) sent to Skyrim to act as on-the-ground enforcement for the Talos ban. His main duties as an active soldier were to assist his assigned Justiciar in martial confrontations as well as in the capture and detainment of heretics. He was stationed outside of Markarth and saw very little "action" up until he was sent with a small team to take down a nearby gathering of alleged Talos worshipers.

Unfortunately, the gathering was not Talos worshipers, and instead a camp of Stormcloaks, with the now-infamous Dragonborn among them. All except Corimir were slain, and he was taken as a prisoner of war. Though, to the Dragonborn, he was more of a trophy, and a toy to be used.

Corimir was held captive for three months in Windhelm where he was tortured (for information he did not have access to) and used by the Dragonborn whenever he saw fit. His only solace was that these were, by definition, war crimes, and Corimir held out hope that his higher-ups would negotiate for his freedom, or send a rescuer eventually. But none came.

Finally, one day, a guard approached his cell. Though her face was hidden behind the metal helm, she spoke with an Altmeri accent and worked to spring him from the prison. With her help, Corimir finally escaped Windhelm and was able to leave the horrors of his time as a captive behind him... Physically, at least.

[There is a slight.... explanation that needs to happen in regards to Corimir's origin. He's fully my original character, but he's based on a character from another fanfic. The original character was an unnamed Thalmor soldier that was captured and sexually abused by Stormcloak soldiers. I felt compelled to "rescue" the character from the situation, and ended up writing an entire fic about it. The fic picks up at Corimir's rescue and doesn't go into the morbid details about his time as a prisoner, aside from the aftermath that comes with surviving that kind of assault and trauma. You can read the fic on my AO3, though please mind the tags. If you're sensitive to trauma-recovery, descriptions of panic attacks, ptsd, dissociation, or suicidal ideation, you might want to skip this one. It does have a happy ending though!]

Rating: M (graphic depictions of violence, implied/referenced non-con) Categories: Gen, M/M Summary: In which a prisoner of war is rescued, though hardly saved, learning that the path of recovery is not well-trodden but a mess of brambles.

Vague story spoilers below the cut!

Once Corimir is given his freedom, the road to healing is long and frustrating. Even after his body begins to heal from the physical abuse, he realizes that his mind is often still trapped in the past. That, and returning to the safety of Thalmor is not nearly as comforting as he might have thought.

His only solace comes in the form of the upbeat, often irreverent, and incredibly mysterious companion who saved him, Elanwe, as well as the cheery Bosmer who took him in while they passed through Ivarstead, Gwilin. The two of them showed him kindness when he'd long lost the hope that any kindness still existed in the world.

After returning to the Thalmor Embassy, Corimir comes to realize that he's exchanged being a prisoner of war for being a prisoner within his own organization. His higher-ups see him as damaged beyond repair, a liability, but most importantly: they see him as possible propaganda.

Corimir finds himself longing to return to the only place he's felt safe since leaving home: Ivarstead. And, frustratingly, he finds himself unable to stop thinking about the kind Bosmer who shared his home with him.

With the help of Elanwe, Corimir manages to once more escape from his captors and begin a new life for himself, returning to Ivarstead and leaving the Thalmor behind him.

Though he will forever be haunted by the shadows of his past, Corimir slowly learns to trust in others once more, as well as find joy in the simple treasures life has to offer.

I don't normally like showing WIPs when I'm working on stuff, but we've been sort of quiet about Mushroom Musume lately so I'll share my (temporary) diversion with you all...! (Don't worry, MM is being worked on too tho! We're actually working on an update that'll give a fresh coat of paint to an area of the game we haven't touched since the game first came out~)

Things are Grim (name very tentative) is a romantic comedy about trying to date a girl who swears she's a grim reaper... Which is very cool and all, but aren't there more important things in life and death? (Like kissing, for example?)

Tagged by @dirty-bosmer to share 5 songs that remind me of my WIP/characters. Since I wasn't sure if there was a specific WIP in question, I went with Flesh & Metal because it's what I'm most likely to be pouring my consumable blood into for the foreseeable future. Anyway, Lil' Blocky Freak reporting in! Let's do this!..

1. Heroes - David Bowie/Philip Glass/Aphex Twin (Orchestral/Experimental Pop)

So, Flesh & Metal is a story where Life on Mars would be cheating, right? But in truth, this is actually much, much more relevant to stuff. We're starting with a song about - heroism. Let's call it that. But this rendition breaks down, it's experimental, it's weird, the sound tears and glitches; I think that serves as a perfect flyover for a place, built by people, who are flawed and ensnared by their own works, which they've made by their own hands. And the story is about that; the distrust and difficulty in surviving when you can't say you care for or trust anyone you know, not even a little. The song, however, isn't about heroism - just an act of it, in regards to two lovers. Maybe that'll be important, too. In the fading dreams of the cover, someone wants to be a hero; and if they can do that, then, perhaps... 2. 2 HAL 9000 - lasah/sasakure.UK (Electronic Pop)

A conceit I'd make is this: Villains are those characters in our fiction who are not human, and who deprive us of human joy. All other things - justice, kindness, moral good, all of that is irrelevant. What matters to readers, to viewers, to people is - 'is this thing human, does it look like me, and if not, does it give me all the joy I want from it?' And if the answer is no, it's a villain. I might be a bit misanthropic, but perhaps I'm selling that short, here. Maybe I'm even more misanthropic. Anyway, regardless of how I feel about villains and AI (actual), this is a pretty relevant piece. Maybe I'll do a character study where a certain character is listening to this on their period-inaccurate ipod nano. (I love stupid bits like that, and I've no shame!) 3. Crimson and Clover - Tommy James & The Shondells (Psychadelic Rock) I love Joan Jett, don't get me wrong, but this is the one. Personally, I think juxtaposing hard science fiction with psych rock/pop is one of the greatest things I'll do. I can pass on now, my time is done... Come to think of it, if I had to pick one (1) song to be the 2010 AMV trailer for my corpus, it'd be this. Just - roll over completely fields of swaying strands, fine and red, whispering in a world without breeze, flowing like tiny bladegrass on the inside of an artery, with the corpse of the sun leering down... Also, it's a classic. Unbeatable. 4. The Damned - The Day We Died (Djent Metal/'Argent' Metal)

The main difference I wanted to have in my first two works was, one has a protagonist who prefers anything but direct confrontation, and the second - might also prefer other methods, but does not believe they are even a possibility. Sometimes you just wake up really angry, and if you aren't dyed in infernal hell-ichor, what's even the point.

5. Comme Si L'Amour - Shine (Melancholic Pop)

Every story I write, on some level, is a romance. Maybe not a romance between people, or even a romance that is reciprocal; I think the distant romance of separated friends, or the unknowable romance of an insurmountable plateau are as beautiful as all other loves, in all the world. But everything else is irrelevant; it's what I come back to. And I wanted to write a story about someone trying very hard to believe they're the person they want to be, seizing on a once-in-a-life-time chance, perhaps, to be a hero - just for one day... Even if they were never accepted for that small desire, is it so wrong to try..? And what if they were, and are..? Bonus: Realm of Darkness - Mili (Experimental Electronic) oh it was POINTLESS

I really just wanted to pump this one, it's been on repeat since I first heard it. Ah, that lovely moment when a song makes your hands twitch, your palms hesitate against the air... May or may not count as spoilers. We'lllllllll seee... I could do one of these for everything I've ever written, I love this one, I hope you lot had as much fun as I did! Might even self-reblob it later for other pieces... Not gonna tag this one because I don't wanna miss you, and I feel like I've over-tagged people as of late. If you do wanna do it, do it? Tag me?! Lookin' left, lookin' right... All right, this one's just me grousing. But holy moly, I was like - I'm amazing, won't be too hard to navigate Win10 while dealing with all this nonsense, yeah? . . . Got my ass handed to me by an OS. Everything works worse then Windows 8.1, grumble... Audio keeps distorting every hour or so? Gonna try poking the chipset, but I'm not sure how anyone is supposed to work when the constant spectre of random resets are overhead...
