Rob: He sighed, wrapping his arms around Rich, letting on hand move through his hair. Part of the reason he didn't want him to listen was all the details he did get into. There was reasons he never mentioned remembering every single detail... Richard had enough horrible memories of that night, he didn't need to see it from a different angle too. "I know..." he mumbled. He didn't know what else to say. This event was always going to be a horrible memory for them both, it didn't matter what else happened. He was sure they would never get fully be okay from it, no matter what he said or front he would put on. It would alway haunt him just as much as it did Richard.
Rich: "I tried so hard to hold it together." It was a shattered confession, mumbled against Rob's neck. "I knew you needed me to, I tried, baby. I did. I just... I think... the moment you asked for her, it all hit me that it was real that you were.. that you could have..." He couldn't finish the thought, clinging tighter and moving to kiss under Rob's ear. He'd never understood why it had traumatized him as badly as it had... he'd never been the one in danger... but as he sat there, holding Rob like letting go would mean certain death, it didn't matter. He forced himself to add another confession, a happier one. "I promised myself that when you got better... I'd try and be the kind of man who deserved you... and I know I fuck that up a lot... but Robbie... I'm trying. Because you're the greatest thing I've ever called mine. And it's shitty it took almost losing you to see that, but I promise to never let myself forget."

Rob: He knew exactly what was going on, he had seen Rich’s tweet. It’s not like he was expecting anything different... except for maybe Richard to not listen to it. He shoved his phone in his pocket as he stood and headed for the stairs. Walking into their bedroom, he stopped briefly in the doorway, swallowing hard. Sighing quietly, he walked to the bed, pulling the pillow away from his husband. “Why did you listen to it?” he asked quietly.
Rich: He knew better, in retrospect, than to listen to the podcast. Robbie had warned him when he'd gotten home that they'd spoken about the events at TorCon, and warned him against listening to it when it finally dropped... but he'd been in bed, editing pictures from NashCon when it had dropped and he'd thought he could handle it. He had braced for the rehashing of easily the most terrifying night of his life... but he hadn't expected Rob to recall, with the clarity he had, how shaken Rich had been in the moment. He'd lost it then, grabbing Rob's pillow for the rest of the interview and begging his husband to join him, wiping at his red, wet eyes as Rob questioned him, voice fractured. "I thought I could handle it. I need to be able to, it wasn't even my fucking thing... but I didn't know you remembered all that... and it just... Robbie..." his husband's name left his lips with a moan of pain as he lurched to grab for him, wrapping him close and hiding his face in his neck, kissing the skin there.
