While out on our daily walk near our home we met (from a distance) this proud grandmother with her two grandchildren. She was teaching them how to play hopscotch. I asked if I could take their portrait and while she wasn’t overly enthusiastic she asked the girls if they would like. Who wouldn’t want to have a picture with their grandmother I thought. I wish I had a picture like this with my grandmother. Just working on some photos for my upcoming book: Life in the Knife. This is an interior photo of the Legislature of the Government of the Northwest Territories. The story behind the Polar Bear rug on the floor is that this bear was once terrorizing a community and so the community asked the Government for help. The government didn’t help and so a citizen shot the bear, took care of the problem and brought his hide back to the Legislative Assembly where it serves as reminder that the Government is there to serve the people.
