Alan Cumming Emcee my beloved
My Grandma used to take me to musical theatre when I was a kid. I grew up in the woods, so it was fun to go to the big city for this kind of stuff. She took me to Cabaret in the 90s, when it came to Toronto for the first time. I still remember my parents being ticked off after looking through the programme I brought home with me. I thought it was cool af, obviously. I guess they just let kids into Cabaret if they were with their Grandma.

'Foxfires at the Changing Tree' by Utagawa Hiroshige, 1857.
Propaganda Magazine
Propaganda was an American gothic subculture magazine. It was founded in 1982 by Fred H. Berger, a photographer from New York City. Berger's photography was featured prominently in the magazine. Propaganda focused on all aspects of the goth culture, including fashion, sexuality, music, art and literature. Propaganda was, at the time of its final issue in 2002, the longest running and most popular gothic subculture magazine in the United States.
I accidentally left a Propaganda magazine in the bathroom once as a teenager (15ish). I was sitting at the kitchen table having lunch and my dad walked up with it, set it down beside me, and just shook his head.
