🌱 Biography ⭍
Growing up, Dylan was immediately close with nature and people joked that he could speak with plants and some even playfully called him a witch. It was the first thing that he showed interest in and he never stopped being interested. As a child, it started with planting his own garden and helping things grow and mixing up potions and clays. It was all make-believe, he was just playing around with textures and colors, but as he grew older he learned more about the plants that he was playing with and playing turned into making salves and natural remedies. Fashion was the next interest he fell into, and he kept hold of that just as tight. He loved looking at fashion magazines and looking at ads, looking to see what clothes were being worn. Between his two big interests, he has notebooks upon notebooks of notes and sketches. There was still only one digit in his age when he started insisting that he dress himself, and by his teen years he was sketching full designs and learning how to sew them.
This heightened sense of who he is and the connection he has to the world around him made it easy for him to figure out who he was at a young age. There wasn’t really ever a time that he chose to wear dresses or present himself femininely. He’d cut his own hair when his parents weren’t looking and called himself a boy. It wasn’t a very large leap for the family to realize as a whole that Dylan was a boy, and the transition was more about telling people than changing his outside. His mom was a shining star when it came to this part of his life, she was the one that helped talk his dad through acceptance and how to handle it.
It was a big hit for them all when she died. Dylan was still young, and his dad didn’t really know how to make things easier for either of them. Everything was harder from then on out, but they managed. Dylan took care of his dad. Before, everyone had shared an equal amount of housework and both parents had taken turns cooking for the house. Now, Dylan did most of everything.
Coming out as gay was a little scary, knowing that his mom wasn’t there to make things easy for the family. His dad remembered what his wife had said to him when Dylan had come out as trans and he used that as a blueprint for what to do now. His dad might be a different type of person than he is, but he does his best.
Coming to Luxe, Dylan is a small fish in a big pond. He didn’t know anyone and made very few friends in his first year. Most of his time was spent pining over one Lucas Parker, who he views as too popular to like him. He’s made a few more friends since then and has become one of Lucas’ friend group, but he still doesn’t think it’s possible. Lucas is basically a rock star, he’s the guy at school that everyone wants to date. Why would he want a nerd like Dylan?
