WELP, ya clicked read more; you can still click away at any time, though, so reading all this is your decision. hi there, guys! i’m dropping hop and kamui from isola. while i’d like to say it’s just because i’ve lost muse, i’d be lying. i don’t mean to cause any offense or trouble, but i will be honest and say that it’s because of how this group is treated. i’m going to let some of my feelings out as well as list some points, so please close this now if you’d rather not read it.
‘what are you talking about?’ you might ask. well, i’m talking about many things, actually. to gloss over a few things... as of writing this, the events page hasn’t been updated since shine bright (three events ago), there’s no general lore page(s), The Incident surrounding one of hop’s pokemon (that one gave me bad anxiety lol), unnecessary restrictions on events (for example, statues couldn’t talk in canvas and if you wrote them talking you were just hallucinating), and lack of communication between mods and members.
(a side note: i’m never given a reason as to why i should care about ofiuco or the (characters, not mods) stars. the events i’ve participated in have been a bit, um. lacking, as well. i know coming up with ideas can be hard, though.)
i’d like to touch on something a bit more, actually. mods, if you’re reading this, hiya! please stop playing favourites and putting yourself above the rules. i’ve seen this happen way too many times in the year i’ve been here, and it’s honestly frustrating to see. people passing activity checks when they shouldn’t have, for example.
another thing: the discord server was put off for a while so we could avoid ‘clique activity’ or however it was called, yet the discord server now has just that. well.. had, maybe? it’s kind of dead now (i left the server yesterday), but you get the point. for people just coming into isola, that’d be very isolating, don’t you think? the characters are supposed to be isolated, not the members,,,
almost forgot, but this is equally as important: lack of transparency from the mods. i’m fine with them taking time, but i’d appreciate being told so. on the housing form after you’ve submitted, it states it’s checked/filled every sunday. it took me about three months to get it. while i understand the mods and assistants have lives outside of isola, there are a lot of them. again, this could be solved with some transparency. if you’re going to take a while, then say so. it’s, again, frustrating.
i love the interactions and connections hop has made here on isola, i really do. but the way isola is handled unfortunately outweighs that. again, i don’t mean any ill intent, i just wanted to be transparent myself. hey, maybe if a mod reads this, it’ll give them the push to make isola better for everyone! that’s enough from me, though. thank you everyone for the wonderful threads! maybe we’ll meet again on indie, who knows?
