          — when leon was beginning to go through the championships himself, the first time he battled in wyndon stadium, he actually passed out. not because of immense nerves, or a pokemon that missed a hit—in fact, it was that he tried to bind. he was pretty broke, and in a  stadium FULL of people who had their eyes on him, he was severely anxious. so he used ace bandages, and boy was that a BAD idea. but that didn’t stop him from wearing them. looking at himself in the locker room, a smile would overcome his face as he ran his hands down the front of his uniform and felt his now-flat chest. this was great ! he felt amazing ! it wasn’t until he was facing the last rival just before the previous galar champion did something finally begin to feel wrong. he’d pant and gasp for some air, his ribs feeling unbelievably confined and pressured. he doesn’t even remeber the ice gym leader asking if he was alright, or waving her hand in front of his face when he hit the field. he doesn't remember any of it. after a long - endured medical break, and a kind nurse helping him properly bind his chest ( though she tried to talk him out of it greatly and to give himself a breather ) leon had headed back out to the field, where he then absolutely decimated the ice type gym leader. to this day she tells him she only let him win because he fainted and gave her quite the fright, but leon knows the truth. this was the same day leon became the OFFICIAL galar champion.
