An Encounter // Billy Hargrove
If it weren't shit enough that she didn't get that much money, her car broke down in the middle of god knows where in Hawkins. It wasn't the dread that she doesn't feel safe, being out and about in the middle of the night. The fact that she can't be seen dressed like this made her desperate, to just know what's wrong with her car.
"C'mon, think dumbass, what do you think is wrong?"
She whispered to herself and nothing but the smoke coming out of her mouth with her. She doesn't know enough about cars to actually fix whatever the hell is wrong right now, but she couldn't think of any other way she would get home.
She surely can't walk around wearing this. Even if it is all covered in a big white coat, she still felt exposed. She walked back inside her car and took off all of the make up on her face, she then removed the black wig, something a bit special for the night. If she's got no other choice but to hitchhike, she needs to look like her boring self.
She made sure she locked all the doors before she sat on the hood of the car. Though she didn't expect she's going to have this much bad luck.
"Sweetheart, what are you doing out?" Of all people, he has to be the one to show up.
"Can I get a ride? I can pay you, I have cash."
She knows she needs to swallow her pride just to get home and get her ridiculous clothing before anyone else could see her like this.
He licked his lips and she could see the the flash of his eyes, making it twinkle from the thoughts he id having as she pulls the door open. Her brain doesn't have what it takes to deal with him right now, so she let him think what he wants.
"What are you doing out so late?" It was not curiousity dripping from his voice but rather cheekiness, probably brought about by the alcohol in his system.
"I forgot something from work." Liar.
The car ride was full of innuendos that she batted away, it was too much to think about or to even cheekily dismiss, the way she would have if she didn't work that night.
"I'm going to miss your company, baby."
"Wow, for someone like you, you sure suck at petnames." The name made her skin crawl on how much that term so easily slipped past his lips, knowing that there have been countless people that were called that name, just from this night.
Fire with fire, he likes that. Just a pinch of playfulness on the surface and maybe even so much more under the surface, he thought.
"Well, I'm afraid I have reached my stop. Here's for your wasted gas for me." She handed him probably a couple of dollars that are just at the top of the money she has in her coat, just the ones that she easily recovered from her body.
She made her way out of the car, it was not that awful to be with him, or maybe she easily tolerated it because of her lack of energy. It certainly is not the best company though, if you want peace, because the whole car ride is made up with half of him hitting on her and the half being totally silent with a hint of sexual tension in the air, probably coming from them accidentally getting glanced at each other in the hallways or in the pool during his work.
Maybe she counted them as glances but she knows and she could tell if people saw them it would be considered as eye fucking.
Though something was off with him, each time the car gets closer and closer to her home, especially after they just passed his.
What suprised her the most that time was when she saw him making his way to her, at first she didn't want to spin around, scared of what was making their way to her during the dead of night.
She didn't get even full word out when he kissed her. She even surprised herself when she closed her eyes. She didn't dream of this, or maybe she did when she used to see him around the community pool or around school smoking a cigarette, it wasn't a crime. She was flustered when she first saw him at school, his demeanor rattling her, but in terms of survival, it's not the time to drool for someone she's going to forget the next 5 years.
And she's still kissing him. Why was she still kissing him?
She pulled back and he didn't stop and went to her neck instead, burrowing his head on her neck, kissing and nipping at the skin.
He's not rational. He saw no lights at home and saw that she was putting the key in her doorknob and got out of the car. He needs a quick one just so he can't go home. Some excuse to stay the night somewhere else rather than rattling the house and waking up the monster.
"Billy, what are you doing?"
"There's no one to stop us, now."
He looked at her and, fuck.
He tensed up and she noticed. She stared at him and she could almost tell who he was, and what he could feel. Her thumb was resting on her lip, which he recently abused and used for his own gain.
"I can't do this." He made his way down the porch, amazingly walking in a straight line, like his tongue didn't taste like alcohol mixed with something sweet, like his system isn't full of the poison in his system.
She could feel the cold air outside nipping at the places where Billy used to kiss at her neck, leaving some moisture from his teeth and lips.
