The main headline of Alif Ba magazine (No. 659, Thirteenth Year, 13 May 1981) carries a clear political–ideological connotation, as it linked the slogan “the liberation of Palestine” with the issue of “the liberation of the Shatt al-Arab” within the context of the Iran–Iraq War.
This formulation reflects an attempt to imbue the war with a mobilizational dimension of a religious–national character by presenting it as part of a broader struggle of the nation. Thus, the phrase symbolizes the instrumentalization of the Palestinian cause as a symbolic framework to justify the conflict and to reinforce mobilizational legitimacy both domestically and regionally.
devgirl1997: TAQBIR from Morocco/Spain is coming to Philadelphia next month, they are an other worldly talent and I am absolutely honored to be booking them.
They are only playing a handful of shows in the states, and this is one of them. Come support international punk and show them what Phillys all about!!!
Along with them will be one of my favorite bands on the east coast Abism from NYC and newcomers Vulgares from down the street.
Tickets available through @4333collective , thanks to them for working with me on this one!
