So I don't mean to be rude or anything. But the NDP are working for national daycare and $15 minimum wage and this and that and the other thing. It's so much, can we really afford all that? How do they plan to implement these ideas? Raise taxes?
The $15/hour minimum wage is a national minimum wage. The NDP cannot force all jobs to pay $15/hour. Only those that are supported by or run by the federal government (which is a small portion of the total).
And usually with these minimum wage increases they are done gradually, so so a huge tax burden isn’t required.
Its not clear how it would be paid for but the Federal government under the plan would pay 60% of the cost, while the provinces pay 40%. It wouldn’t hurt the economy, because accessible childcare frees up parents from being stay at home mom’s or dads able to hold full time careers without having to worry about high childcare costs or taking care of a child and not working.
Taxation also doesn’t have to impact the public. Higher taxes on the wealthy or corporations can easily pay for it.
Are you sure allthecanadianpolitics? My understanding was they would pass a law that the minimum wage would be $15/hour across all job sectors.
A better Canada is just an election away! #OrangeCrush #TM4PM #VoteNDP
That's a dang good looking family! (at Weaver Lake)
