How to set up a VPN: Trust.Zone
So this post went viral and I got many many questions.
Now that the US government has given its citizens the finger and banned their privacy I have decided to make this short tutorial.
Anger as US internet privacy law scrapped
Congress just voted to let internet providers sell your browsing history
This tutorial will be on how to set up Trust.Zone (free trial). And once again, excuse my English. I am from Germany. So if you value privacy and don’t like this new ‘hierarchy’, get a VPN.
Step 1: Go to Trust.Zone (click here)
Step 2. ^ Click on ‘Try it free’
Step 3. Click on ‘Try now!’
Step 4. Click on ‘Get now’
Step 5. Register. (If you need a new email I recommend Tutanota. They don’t ask for any information when you signup. You only have to come up with an email and password)
Step 6. Confirm your email
Step 7. Click on ‘Welcome to Trust.Zone VPN...’
Step 8. Click on ‘Click here to activate your account!’
Step 9. Click on ‘Download client for Windows’.
Step 10. Click on ‘Download now’
Step 11. Double click on your download and follow the instructions provided by Trust.Zone. Scroll down.
Step 12. Open Trust.Zone if it didn’t launch right after you installed it
Step 13. Click on ‘Servers’. You can now choose a location. Where do you want the world to think you are located? To illustrate, I choose Hong Kong (click on it).
Step 14. Wait for it to connect. Go to https://www.whatismyip.com/ to check if your IP address has changed.
Step 15. Another example. Click on the first server ‘Favorites’, to connect to the server nearest to you. This will give you the fastest speed. It doesn’t matter if it’s an US server. Your data is still encrypted and the server is not physically in the US so the government can’t get it.
Step 16. I got a Dutch server. (Neighboring country).
You are now being protected. You might see ads in different languages. (ad companies target countries).

If you read my post you might remember what I said about this VPN service:
“Trustzone is located in the Seychelles. No country can interfere and their privacy jurisdiction is the best you can get. The US want your data but needs to get it from Trustzone? The Seychelles will simply give them the finger and wave them goodbye. However, this makes this provider very appealing for people who torrent and criminals because they keep no logs (and that is how it shoud be) Also, there are almost no marketing efforts so this provider is one the cheapest) ”
So compared to other VPNs,Trust.Zone is really really good. However, their business ethics might need some improvement. But other than that I recommend this VPN to everyone.
Check if it works. Get one if you reside in the USA.
Many people asked me ‘But what about Europe?’ Only get one if you torrent or are on public WiFi a lot.
Hope this helped. And to all my American friends out there, I hope you get your privacy rights back one day. But till that day comes: stay safe.

EDIT: Apparently @guardians-of-the-internet is sending this to everyone who liked the post on VPNs. So give them a follow because sending this to everyone is very time consuming!
