Hey everyone! I’m a happily married transgender lesbian woman in my late 30’s. My pronouns are she/her. I juggle being a mom, wife, student, homemaker, and sometimes writer of prose and poetry in the mountains on a tiny farm in the US of A.

I’m a witchy kind of big tent anarchist, committed to the downfall of capitalism in hearts, minds, and the wider world.

For any younger queer people, I know this is has been said to the point that it’s trite, but it Does get better. I’ve had times that I was barely staying a step away from homelessness, I’ve had times when it didn’t feel worth it to keep going in the past, but I want to share this beautiful present moment with you all.

I’m sitting on a couch cuddled up with my wife, we’ve been married for almost four years and we’re deliriously happy. She’s proudly showing me her newly organized and decorated farm in Stardew Valley.

I can hear my kiddo in their room (prior marriage) and they’re on a group call with friends. They’re laughing so much, and I love their absolutely unrestrained joy. Kiddo is genderfluid and gay and has never for an instant doubted that they would be supported whole heartedly by us.

I started transitioning when I was 31, eight-ish year ago. I haven’t felt dysphoria in years, and I am loved and supported by my wife and kiddo. I’m safe and comfortable and happy.

I know I have a lot of privilege, and I’ve had a lot of lucky breaks in my life, but I do know without any doubt that if you keep putting one foot in front of the other, even the darkest nightmares can slowly morph into things you’ve only dreamed about. With so much negativity out there, I just wanted to share this moment with anyone who needs a little hope and light in their life.

This is your friendly reminder that we call Marxist-Leninists (Stalinists) tankies for a reason. They used guns and tanks to eradicate any group under their umbrella of influence that wanted to be free of it, even fellow Leftists.

Look up their actions in Hungary, the Czech Republic, and the city of Kronstadt to understand that they were just as repressive and authoritarian as the regime they replaced.

When I say "connect with nature" I don't just mean the aesthetic forests with deer and beautiful flowers.

I mean the weeds growing through concrete, the fungus that grows on the rotten shed, the nettles that always seem to return and the scary, spindly cellar spider in the corner of the bathroom.

Nature is not always pretty or magical - the pigeons and seagulls you swat at are nature too, the wasps and flies that hover by your meals are animals too, store-bought strawberries and the leaves that fall from your neighbour's tree are not all that different from the Giant Sequoias and it's seeds.

If you want to connect and understand nature, I mean *really* connect to it, in it's entirety, you have to seek out and learn about the ugly, scary and mundane things as well. You don't have to like it, just don't forget that it's there.
