My own prejudice is that nudism promotes self esteem, etc., but I would expect that the objection to the asserted Journal article would be that people with less body shame and more self esteem are the kind of people who would try nudism. There's also the possibility that folks with low self esteem who try nudism are making a self-fulfilling prophecy that their self esteem will improve.

Cut through this knot. It's pleasant to be socially nude. Go for it.
