She shivers at the slight massage, not realising the sheer pressure of the grief she was feeling and the weight it was burdening her with. Those tense muscles tingling with release as he kneads them, causing a loud sigh to escape her and dark locks to drop as her neck tilts, proving him more access — and hopefully more time with those hands and their working wonders, following the silent persuasion and fixates those rheumy hues on his actions. Offering no help she feel rude, however both Jessica’s mind and body feels exhausted, the last time the girl ate being two and a half days ago and the remainder of her diet being that of a liquid sort. Yet there was no complaints form him, easily building the pair a den as she simply stands off to the side, comforting herself as her thoughts swirled around self pity anger; though moving eventually as her bladder gently reminds her of her need to drain. Excusing herself quietly she’ll do her humanly duties, washing her face of all the grit and dirt that her expedition the night before brought her, brushing her teeth and closing her eyes as she straightens — not wanting to see the monstrous sight that was keeping Jimmy Darling company.
Returning back to the scene she’ll instantly feel comforted by the safe haven that Jimmy had fashioned with her belongings, reminding her of the times the two would lose themselves for hours with nothing but their imaginations; even if it always ended in tears. Though her expression is unchanging and hiding the flicker of happiness that barely sparks inside of her, allowing the boy to sit her down, eyes fluttering as her companion wraps the blanket around him, frowning a little as those rosy cheeks of hers feel a little squished. That glaze covering her saddened eyes withdrawing and finally seeing him as she used to.. forgetting about the sadness for a moment as that hazy mind of hers tries to fathom what hes doing; it isn’t until he finally speaks that it clicks. He’d always been good at making her laugh, and cheering her up from those foul moods that she was partial to, his words cause a small laugh to bubble up and her eyes to cast downward, blushing furiously and loving the word “my” a little too much within that sentence. Biting her lip, Jessica releases another giggle. “you’re silly” Feeling very much like the love struck teenager that she was, reminding her of her father so much in that moment and lifting her mood slightly in remembrance.
There it was, the corners of her lips tugging upward in a small, gentle smile in response to his simple attempt in bringing a taste of happiness back into the dismal abode; and he finds himself smiling as well, a small chuckle exhaling through his nose as he ducks down slightly to get a good look at her squishy face. She suddenly looked seven again, as though time had regressed in a matter of millionth of a second; those cheeks of hers rose-tinted and slightly freckled, hazel eyes shifting downward in a small amount of chagrin like she always used to do when they were young and Jimmy would tell her she looked like a moviestar with all that glitter on her shirt – her voice is timid and mild as she speaks to him with affection, and even her soft lilt brings him back to their childhood, when she’d done something awful and he’d end up in tears, she’d speak to him with that same sweet tone, hoping he’d calm down before her mother came in and gave her a spank for making Jimmy Darling cry. It had all come flooding back to him in a matter of moments; his raven eyes never parting from that sweet face of hers as he revels in the past, wishing that the two of them hadn’t spent their years jumping down each other’s throats and seeking revenge; and rather holding each other, supporting each other – like they were now.
Although, he couldn’t say he’d love her as much if they had.
“ You’re silly, ” he responds softly, his voice rising in it’s pitch slightly; almost as if his opposite had been a young child, and he smiles, wiggling the blanket around her chin slightly, causing her head to shake back and forth gently. He smiles wider, reaching a hand forward to fix the hem of the blanket slipping down behind her head. “ How can I take ya seriously when you look like a lil’ burrito? ”
