Dying would be too boring! It won’t give much purpose if you’re out to murder someone like me..! And no way I’m as old as you…I’m sure I am younger than you. Especially the way your body is, it seems more womanly than a little girl..
[ STARES AT ….. ]
well hell if I KNOW. you could be some shota runt. what’re then, huh? middle school? or even elementary school? kindergarten?
…. womanly. [ narrows eyes. ] if you think i’m womanly, then don’t go callin’ me an old lady, brat. do i LOOK like i’m shriveling up anywhere? HUH?
Lady, you talk funny! I’m not this…’shota runt’ or whatever you just said. I’m just Teddy! I’m just me, I don’t belong anywhere so ages and personal information is just lost~
[ Teddy clears his throat and waves his stuffed bear’s arm at Azami. ]
But you see, if you keep acting cranky, you might just get wrinkles and grow old even faster..! Then you can’t get married or date guys!
[ crosses arms and continues to glare at this ignorant child how dare he ]
It's not Lady, it's Azuma. Just lost, huh? Well now, don't you just feel like a special little outcast.
If I were you, I'd shut up and stop worrying other people, and be more concerned about how you're going to walk with just one leg. And who says I want to get married anyway, huh? Getting married, having kids, having a decent job--it's all so typical and exactly what society expects of you.

P-Please do not hurt me..! I apologize for saying such a rude thing…old lady!
YOU WANNA DIE!? I BET YOU’RE THE SAME AGE AS ME AND THAT’S DISGUSTING

…..Right. I’d come along, but…issues. And I could die if you and everyone else suddenly disconnected me from all the machines and kidnapped me, so…don’t think about that.
I think you sometimes forget I have a brain, E. 'Might not be very smart like Mamoru, but I'm not stupid enough to do something like that.
Anyway, don't they have portable machines they can hook you up to so you can go out for at least a while? Aren't doctors always saying that some exercise and fresh air once in a while is good for your health?

Azuma…correct me if I’m wrong, but…didn’t you guys completely wreck some place the last time you went off somewhere……?
Not my fault the machines were rigged and didn't count my score right.
Oi, it's Friday night, let's hit the arcade or something. I'm bored~
another blank day. [open]
“Not a serious issue?”
[ Shou’s eyebrows raise slightly in disbelief.
Azuma’s previous statement had triggered him to at least remember the frequency of her presence in class. When he actually thought more into it, occasionally catching sight of some wild orange hair, and the hallway small talk Shou’d overhear— “Hey, did you hear, Azuma and Tsuji…” or “I can’t believe the two of them…!” was the only indicator in his mind (aside from those occasional appearances) that the girl in front of him actually existed in the first place.
Despite that, gaining a reputation over just a few incidents was pretty cool, he’d swallow down that sudden spark of jealousy just to admit. Barely being around, yet people knew their names… hell, spreading around those kinds of ‘bad-ass’ and ‘cool’ impressions tricked him into thinking she’d been around a lot more frequently than Shou’d originally given credit for…
But he wouldn’t let something like that distract him in the middle of a somewhat friendly conversation. ]
“Really? I could have sworn hearing about things that’d get someone expelled in seconds,” [ He raises a finger to his lip, feigning thought. ] “That’s pretty weird… are they true? With the girls’ bathrooms, mirrors… you know what I’m talking about. “
[ However, the next thing she says nearly catches him off guard. Fight? Well, he wouldn’t be so surprised. Azuma was probably looking at his eyepatch— raising damn questions here and there during all the wrong times.
Or it was just a small question he was putting way too much thought into.
It’s self-reassurance. If she begins to ask about that, he’ll just pose the same excuses… but when it came to fighting, he couldn’t lie about that. A delinquent like her’d want to test him out, that’d end out horribly… lying was just a dead end.
He’d never been so disappointed in not pursuing athletics. ]
“…I’ve never been in a situation where I defended myself, or willingly attacked someone else. Do you want to fight?” [ A small chuckle, but nonetheless, ‘shit.’ That alone was… too bold of a question. ]
“My regular absences aren’t a serious issue. Compared to other things I’ve done.”
[ Things that Shou had heard about, evidently. Azuma’s eyes narrowed again in that positive way, indicating an unseen smile. It wasn’t really a surprise that word got around. She wasn’t exactly subtle with her acts. Still, it was funny how Shou seemed to know so much about her already, and yet she could barely remember his name. Was she that self-centered now? Or did he just not stand out? Her lack of attendance at school, too, probably had something to do with why this guy drew such a blank. ]
“Right. But I’m not just someone.” [ He’d said so himself. She was Azuma. She knew what she was doing. ] “The girl’ bathrooms, huh? Well, why don’t you go see for yourself?”
[ She teased him, knowing full well that he couldn’t. Not unless he wanted to be deemed a pervert. Another hidden smirk played on her lips, contrary to the innocent head tilt that followed her suggestion.
Shou surprised her again just then, with that bold question. Did she want to fight? Either he was gutsy, or again, just plain stupid. For the most part, everything he’d said so far was rather typical. But this was a little interesting. And maybe that’s what made Azuma want to toy with him a bit more. ]
“Do I? I dunno. Are you scared of hitting a girl?”
[ Her arms dropped casually to her sides, and she advanced a couple steps more. If the answer was yes, it’d be worse than fighting Tsuji. He was her regular punching bag, but at least he tried. Despite everything, Azuma did have morals, and she’d feel bad trying to fight someone who couldn’t hit back. It wouldn’t be worth it. ]
Surprise beautiful Misha! Once you get this, you must put it into at least 8 people’s asks who have changed their icon to Misha (anonymously or not, idc). If you break the chain, nothing will happen, so don’t feel obligated to do it. Let the Mishapocalypse continue! ♥ EYAH

another blank day. [open]
[ Well… she did have a point.
He originally failed to remember it clearly, but seeing Azuma in class was never part of a regular day when it came to recollection. Shou quickly stabs himself at a mental apology towards her; that was clearly nothing but inconsideration on his part… but still. There was a small ounce of immature anger still lingering throughout, but whatever! She’d at least remember him by the end of the day. Just say the right things, and hold back comments during the right places, and you’re fine. It’s not so hard.
…Man.
Sometimes, Shou has to wonder how much he overdoes it. And it’s definitely one of those times, ringing a clear bell of self-awareness right in his face. ]
“Ooh, I forgot about that… that’s why,” [ Shou pauses, taking a moment to think. ] “But you know, it’d be better to go frequently, or who knows what’ll happen… though you probably do know what happens. Since you’re Azuma.”
[ Was that good enough? Her defiant attitude leaves him unsure of what he could add on, other than the simple task of edging her on to comply with him. It’s not like anything he could bring up would be a sufficient topic to carry on conversation… there was probably a lot she’d give less than a shit about; he wan’t any different, but something that could get more than a one-phrase answer seemed like a good idea.
Asking her questions? About what she was doing? Shou’d probably receive a blunt response along the words of, “Nothing.” if he did. Not that, then.
What… would she rather do… other than talk? Weak, but he’d try and improvise along those lines. ]
“Not one for talking, huh? I’ve got an entire day with no schedule slated, so if you’re up for anything… especially when you’re looking that bored.”
[ Azuma kept her eyes trained on Shou the entire time, her gaze steady and concentrated on him. It was like she was just trying to intimidate him, and make him falter somehow. But, no, that wasn’t it at all. Actually, maybe that was part of it (trying to test his resolve and all that crap), but what she was really trying to do was read him. Study his body language, his expression. What was really going through his head as he was trying to make friendly with her? Was she making him nervous? Was he choosing his words carefully, in case he set her off somehow? Was he afraid of her?
She did tend to have that affect on people. Most were too scared to approach her at all. So was this guy fearless, or just a blundering idiot?
And then, words that even she would not have expected to yield the reaction they did from her. ]
“Since you’re Azuma.”
[ Before she could help herself, her lips twitched into a crooked grin. Not that he’d be able to see it. But maybe he’d at least notice the slight creasing around her eyes, and her “hmph” of a laugh, that sounded more like a huff from behind her mask. She made no effort to cover up her involuntary amusement, as that’d only make her more suspicious.
So she had a reputation. Or whatever it was. Anyway, he expected her to know what kind of trouble she’d get in. Since she was Azuma, she knew all about trouble.
She didn’t know why it amused me so much, but it did. ]
“I go often enough that it’s not a serious issue.” [ She answered dismissively. Honestly, her truancy was probably the least of their concerns. It was a miracle she hadn’t been expelled yet.
And then … another surprise from Shou. Offering to spend time with her. An entire day, even. She was starting to wonder if he really was just stupid. Voluntarily involving himself with someone like her? Didn’t he realize the possibilities of what could happen? The harm that she could inflict on him if she wanted to? ]
“Hey, can you fight?”
[ A blunt question. And honestly, half a joke. He didn’t look a fighter at all, but who knows. Maybe that fancy patch of his was hiding a black eye or something. ]

Azuma…that’s…not the best idea……can’t you guys come without any injuries? That would probably make me feel more at ease…I feel like Tsuji has suffered enough at your hands, anyways…
But it's ... the only way ... I-it's not like I'd have any other reason to deliberately make my way over to the hospital that's on the other side of the city or anything .... and also, I've yet to hear a single complaint from that weakling
another blank day. [open]
[ Such an edgy voice talking back to him didn’t really throw Shou off— in short, he was used to it. There were other people a lot worse than the general first-time impression Azuma leaked off to him, so maybe without any harm done, they could… get to know each other? Be friends, maybe! If that alone wasn’t wishful thinking, at least.
A gaze akin to shooting daggers Azuma gave him, as the words escaped… from… the small openings of her mask… made for the atmosphere to be much more tense than he’d planned for it to be, but again, Shou repeats himself sarcastically, there’s been worse!
What really did throw him off was the fact that she failed to recognise him at first glance. Even if something as common as someone forgetting the faintest idea of his name wasn’t a huge surprise either, these reactions never failed to tick him off to a certain degree. How can recognition be so hard?
Nevertheless, Shou’s friendly expression remains in place, bending down slightly for an effort to at least make eye contact. This was no place for his childish feelings to incite bitter stimuli in him today! He was talking to someone!
….Someone who seemed like they’d decapitate him in a second, give or take the wrong words!! ]
“Oh, you don’t remember me?” [ He lets out a small chuckle. ] “I’m Shou! You know, class?”
[ He did pick up on Azuma’s second utterance, though required fixed ears. Geez, harsh. Expression unchanging, Shou continues on with his response. ]
“Ever heard of small-talk? I saw you here, so I thought it’d be a stellar opportunity to… I don’t know, talk?” [ Smooth phrasing ruined. Shou wanted to hit himself. ] “Yeah. We’ve never really spoken to each other, have we?”
[ The fact that Shou didn’t seem to be deterred by her cold attitude only furthered her annoy …. No, wait, that wasn’t right. Shou wasn’t the one she was fighting. He wasn’t an adult. He wasn’t one of those people trying to shove rules down her throat. This boy had done nothing to offend or impede her, so there was no logical reason to make him her enemy.
It was simply that … in acting tough on the outside, her harsh outlook on life ended up causing her to act harshly towards everyone. Whether or not they had ever wronged her.
Well. It was too late to change now, especially right on the spot. Shou’s friendly tone still struck a nerve, though. Was she envious of that, somehow? Did she wish she could be that outgoing and nice, while still being true to herself? ]
“Then you should remember I don’t really go to class much, Shou.”
[ Azuma replied coolly. She shifted into a crouch, and then stood up, leaning back against the tree to make it easier for both of them, so that Shou wouldn’t have to stoop over, and she wouldn’t have to look up at him. Her arms folded defensively over her chest again. ]
“… No.” [ A reply to both his questions, followed by a slight tilt of her head. ] “I’m not really one for talking.” [ Although if Shou needed some hitting, on the other hand, all he had to do was say so. ]
diseasecalledregret replied to your post: diseasecalledregret replied to your post: ...
I…would hope that I don’t see anyone in the hospital at all, really, but I can’t exactly do anything considering how I’m confined to this hospital. …And yeah, I’ll…keep an eye out for him.
I'll beat him up just so we can come pay you a visit. How's that then, huh?
diseasecalledregret replied to your post: diseasecalledregret replied to your post: ...
I’m not really sure “toughening” him up really counts if it’s to the point where I’d see him in the hospital… …Though I wonder where he went. Are you…sure…you didn’t ‘accidentally’ knock him out…?
If you see him in the hospital, then he's not tough enough yet. Now, if you see us both in the hospital, he's gettin' somewhere. ... And yeah, positive. .. Let me know if you see him come by, alright?
another blank day. [open]
[ Shou would say he was a fan of weekends, but in all reality, he found them a bit boring. Absolutely nothing to do— he had nothing new to read, nothing to study. A trip to the library led to a detour… towards.. where?
It isn’t an unusual fix. His thoughts caught him on a wandering trail of multiple aspects: thinking of this, that, contemplating certain things and rejecting others, until Shou’s own reality detachment came to a sudden stop. But nothing came to suprise. The scenery was nothing but the same trees, grass, and a not so contrasting sidewalk to reflect the perfectly synchronised greenery. ]
“Huh…”
[ Repetitive. Why did he find this so strange? When he saw other people with their huddled laughs giving friendly pats on their little trips, he was sure they were too concentrated on each other to notice given patterns.
‘Screw it,’ thoughts linger between himself. Overthinking, again. ‘I need to go home. Not here.’
But the more Shou thought about it, did he really want to go home? And the library was too far of a walking distance, without a single thing he’d had in mind in terms of activity. A little walk wouldn’t hurt anything, right? His little self debate doesn’t take too long; quickly, Shou nods to himself, stuffing his cold hands in both pockets and continuing an incessant stroll.
Doesn’t take a little more until he a familiar face— no, uniform, (couldn’t miss that hair colour either) catches his eye. Azuma and Tsuji weren’t together? Strange… Maybe they could talk!?
He walks a small distance over to say greet and say hello, hoping that at least, a hypothetical bite from the girl wouldn’t be too rough. ]
“Excuse me, Azuma? You awake?”
[ Left with nothing better to do, and an increasingly nagging sense of irritation, she settled down to take a nap. Maybe when she woke up, she’d find Tsuji, or Tsuji would find her, and then she’d pummel him to the ground for the hell of it, and while she dragged him off to the hospital with the excuse that he’d run into a pole, they could kill two birds with one stone and visit-- ]
“Excuse me, Azuma? You awake?”
[ Yeah. Yeah, she was. Now.
Well, that was a lie. She was bored out of her mind, but not so much that sleep could overtake her in the matter of minutes.
Arms still crossed over her chest, her eyes flickered open, rolling around in search of the owner of the voice. They found their target before long, and Azuma took several long seconds studying the boy’s appearance before even bothering to pull herself up in a half-sitting position.
He looked familiar, but didn’t really strike a bell, to be honest. Short, average-cut black hair. The same as most guys around here. No really distinguishing features …. Oh, well there was that eye patch. ]
“…… Who are you again?”
[ Her voice came out sharp, but muffled by her mask. And what the hell do you want.
Azuma wanted to know that too, but decided to keep her degree of hostility on the low side for the time-being. Or at least in moderation. ]
